Bae Bae ran a hand through his hair before reaching to take the handle of his mug of tea. He took three sugar packets from the small cup by the napkin dispenser, as well as two tiny cups of creamer. After stirring them into his tea, he took a sip and looked out the window. "Not right away. The last time this happened, it took something really huge to get him to speak to me again. I'm sure you've noticed how proud he is." The man inhaled deeply, held his breath for a minute, then let it out and took another sip. "Besides, this is way worse than hurting his feelings. Kenshin hates everything about Ellery, right down to the tiniest molecule. I was being insensitive. At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if he decides to stop speaking to me altogether."
As if suddenly realizing how awful he was acting, Bae attempted a smile. "Sorry, I'm being such a drama queen. Why don't we change the subject, talk about something-" he began to suggest, only to be interrupted by the buzzing of his cell phone. "Oh dear. Excuse me." He pulled his phone out to look at who had messaged him, sighing internally at the order he was being given by Ellery. "Looks like I've got to get going back home. My band's manager insists that I finish nitpicking the tour details. Sorry about that." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a few bills, setting them on the table as he stood. "I feel awful about leaving you so rudely, though. My friend lives very closeby, and I'm sure he hasn't eaten yet. Why don't I send him over here to keep you company and escort you home? It would make me feel much better." |

Ana carefully sipped at her hot chocolate. This was some drama. She was kind of glad she'd been brought up as she had. Sure, sirens weren't the most drama free of the species, but they were definitely not as bad as this. If someone had a problem with another, there was a fight to the death. Not the kindest or most merciful way to solve issues, but that was that. She was snapped out of her thoughts when his phone went off, and she just gave him a smile and a nod. "No problem. Take all the time you need." She took another deep sip from her hot chocolate, licking the whipped cream off her upper lip. He had to go? She furrowed her eyebrows, frowning slightly. She was enjoying his company. "Well, alright." While she found it a little strange to send a friend in his place, she wouldn't complain. Anything was better than just sitting around alone. She gave him another one of her characteristic smiles. "I guess I'll be seeing you around then. And, I hope everything works out with Ken." Standing up, she held out a hand for him to shake.

Ana waited patiently for her new companion, having ordered some chicken strips and french fries. They were the only thing on the menu that she was one hundred percent sure wouldn't upset her stomach and she would like. Just before the redhead arrived, her food had been brought to the table. When he arrived, she gave him a smile and waved. That must be Bae's friend. "The one and only," she said, nodding her head. She waited until the waitress took off before giving him another smile. "Pleasure to meet you, Adrian." She picked at her french fries, dipping one in ranch before eating. "Oh, I met him through Kenshin. Ken had offered to let me stay with him while some situation with my dorm as sorted out, and Bae kind of bashed the door open."

Adrian Darcy Adrian laughed at the anecdote, shaking his head. " Yeah, he has a tendency to be a little overdramatic. When he was a kid, he used to run up to me and ask me to play pirates with him, and if my death wasn't extravagant enough, he would kick my shoulder and lock himself in the bathroom." Still chuckling, the man graciously received his drink from the waitress and took a sip, leaning back in his chair to take a better look at the girl. " So Kenshin, huh? He's still chasing that horse? Poor kids, the both of them. You know, you should probably stay with someone less likely to accidentally get you killed." He pointed out of the window. " A bunch of the students have lovers or family members with their own apartments. You could always ask around. Anything's better than staying in that dorm, let me tell you, especially now that Kenshin's jealousy has started to become more and more irrational.."

Dexter Olsen "Hey, pay attention!"The older man found the silence too awkward for him to speak during, but when they were finally seated at the cafe, he couldn't bite his tongue much longer. " He was wrong, you know," said Dexter after they ordered their drinks. " Akito and I were involved romantically, but we never slept together. He wasn't mature enough for it. Sex is a very adult thing, and I didn't want him to jump into it without a safety net." He shrugged, holding up his menu as he looked over it. " Now then, are we going to have lunch in silence, or are you going to get past your shock so we can converse?" Despite covering the lower half of his face, a teasing smile was echoed in his heterochromatic eyes. "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

Dexter Olsen"Hey, pay attention!"He shrugged, eyes focusing on the menu now. " Well, what do you want to know? Who came on to who? How long we stayed together? Why he left me?" He set the menu down, lacing his fingers together and resting his chin on them. " Akito hit on me first. He was a TA, and during one of the classes he was helping me with, he started flirting with me, then kissed me in the back of the classroom while the students were watching a film. He was the first person I'd dated since my divorce, the first guy I'd been interested in ever, so I was a little awkward during our relationship. I suppose the fact that I denied him sexual attention drove him away." Dexter stopped, looking away with a distant look in his eyes. " I really cared for him, ya know? He understood me, or at least tried to. It was nice to talk to someone who wasn't using me for something or afraid of me, and after that nightmarish marriage to Barbie, he was a breath of fresh air, a dream come true. Of course, until that dream ended." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"

I do have friends, you know," he said, pulling his phone out and pulling up a picture of himself, the band director, and the cute physics teacher who was angrily yelling and smacking a laughing Reed with a rolled up magazine. " Reed and Alan are two of my closest friends, and I'm not the slightest bit attracted to them. I didn't develop feelings for Akito because he talked to me, it takes a lot more than just that." He put his phone away, checking the time before he did. " Besides, I'm never looking to fall in love. I've got a child to care for, a father who refuses to retire, an ex-wife constantly looking to bleed me dry, I barely have time to decorate my apartment, much less date around." "I get paid to teach your stupid butt, not amuse you!"
