I've heard that the first is worse than the second so I would say to just get L4D2. As for when, being a cheapskate I'd probably wait for a sale. It depends how much you want to play the game.

I have two papers to write.
One, securing a C in Composition
One, securing a B in Marriage and the Family
I has to pray for a C in Poly Sci..

I_love_Inuyasha1 I've heard that the first is worse than the second so I would say to just get L4D2. As for when, being a cheapskate I'd probably wait for a sale. It depends how much you want to play the game. Which is why I would get L4D1 first. To get the experience, and overall gameplay. And then upgrading to L4D2. I figure it'd be easier to go from L4D to L4D2 rather than L4D2 to L4D to get teh storiez.

Did you know that L4D1 technically wasn't even made by Valve but a company they bought and then they abolished said comapny?

But should I get 1 now? Or should I get the 1/2 bundle to save 10 bucks? Or should I wait on that to get teh lfd1character add-on included in the purchase of lfd2?
