"Lily walked down the hall in her small surburbian apartment, being careful not to wake her mother who was sprawled on one of the two cots they owned. When her father died, they had had to sell their big house to pay for Lily's college tuition. Lily pushed her glasses up her nose and sighed. She sat down in the sunny window seat and plugged in her purple boombox. It had been her 13th and last birthday present from her dad. Lily wiped away a tear and glanced down at the book in her hands. It had taken months of saving, not to mention not buying new clothes for a while, but she finally had been able to buy it. Just then, her favourite song, Never lose hope, came onto the radio. Lily smiled to herself, for the song had a special meaning to her, as she opened the brand new covers of Harry Potter 7"
