It's not so much a rematch with the exact same pokemon, but practicing
A chance for them both to work with newer pokemon or try out a new move, or just get more comfortable with battling in general
Alongside slowly becoming friends and getting to know each other through this

I truly didn't know Ava is Xia's roommate until I finished writing her post. I thought she was still rooming with Tera, Kaos' character, just like before my sudden disappearance in gaia. At the marketplace, I sort of made her not recognizing your character when she should have. >_<;;;

Not sure how should their past interaction had been, but maybe we could say that they start talking more from now on?

Very sorry! Didn't mean to ignore your character. I'd been very busy in rl and also caught a cold afew days ago, so I'm very slow atm to catch up with the rp and everyone.
