Fujioka Haruhi

Haruhi is an honest, independent and sensible girl, who stands up to what she believes is right, and is the heroine of the story. She is somewhat less conscious of her gender than other people and so doesn’t mind being seen as a guy by people outside the Host Club. She is considered a fascination by Tamaki, Hikaru and Kaoru due to her commoner life. Her naturalness is what draws customers to designate her as their host.

Suou Tamaki

Tamaki is the founder of the Host Club and its King (as said by others). He is very dramatic and overreacts to everything. He is though, very conscious of everyone’s problems and tries his best to help. However, his over-reactive nature sometimes negates this aspect, such as being too worried about Haruhi’s financial status. He has fallen for Haruhi and constantly tries to charm her. However, his usual tactics that he uses on his customers seem to have no effect on her. He then proclaims himself as Haruhi’s father and tries to look out for her, though this is usually quite troublesome for her. His charm and charisma is what gains him his customers.

Haninozuka Mitsukuni (Honey/Hani)

Nicknamed ‘Honey’, Mitsukuni looks young and cute, and loves eating sweets. He may seem like an elementary schooler, but is in fact the oldest in the Host Club, along with his best friend Mori. He is the junior champion of karate and his family is recognised as prestigious martial artists. He uses his shotacon look to attract customers.

Morinozuka Takashi (Mori)

Takashi is somewhat semi-emotionless, silent, strong and is the junior kendo champion. He is always looking out for and protecting Mitsukuni, who is his cousin. Although he is labelled as the silent type, some also consider him the wild type. Both of these aspects are what get him his customers.

Ootori Kyouya

Although Kyouya is meant to be the vice-president of the club, he really is the one who organises everything. He is very intelligent, knowledgeable and somewhat scheming. He is able to manipulate events around him to suit his own needs. I’m not sure how much hosting he does, but he is considered the cool type, which is what attracts the girls.

Hitachiin brothers: Kaoru and Hikaru

The identical twins, Kaoru and Hikaru. Athough it is impossible to tell them apart by their faces, the clothes they wear help to distinguish them. Kaoru also has a gentler voice than Hikaru. The two had lived most of their lives with only each other, but this has changed once they joined the Host Club, and especially when they meet Haruhi. Hikaru is the more aggressive type, but always looks out for his younger brother. He also seems to like Haruhi, though Kaoru’s feelings are not clear. The two use their brotherly-love to attract customers.

Houshakuji Renge

- 15-16 yrs
The girl who adores playing dating sims, had dreamt of Kyouya as the rightful prince of the Host Club, and even taken over it as manager (self-proclaimed, that is) – Renge! She is very loud and self-spoken and seems to always appear by using a motorized, spinning platform (even when they are not in the building). Of course, as a girl (Haruhi exception), she does not do any hosting. Instead, she oversees the club instead.
