When I first tried coffee, I felt it was bitter and tasted nasty too. The key is drinking it repetitively and finding the right taste that works for you...eg. mocha latte with two sugars and chocolate powder.

Also, coffee always tastes better warm. Once it gets cold, it tastes bad regardless, at least for me.
