I think there's too much attention to violence in today's society.

What parent wouldn't be afraid of these demonic "video game" machines turning their children into Satan's pawns? IMO that's an area for concern.

Banning video games won't keep your kid from turning into a psycho anyways.
And most movies are easily 10 times worse than any game.

All forms of entertainment help desensitize us to violence, but none of them drive us to them. You have to be a sick s**t to go around killing people.

I find it slightly disturbing how on various Game blogs, commenters sometimes seem more outraged at Thompson's assertions than dismayed at the actual incident.

Gonbe I find it slightly disturbing how on various Game blogs, commenters sometimes seem more outraged at Thompson's assertions than dismayed at the actual incident. The actual incident really doesn't concern us. Whoever is responsible for the incident just gives us a bad name as gamers. But in reality, those people aren't gamers. They're psychopaths, and should be dealt with as such, not given sympathy. My condolences to whoever was hurt, but I have no sympathy for anyone who uses games as an excuse to kill.

Tatsuman But in reality, those people aren't gamers. They're psychopaths, and should be dealt with as such, not given sympathy. My condolences to whoever was hurt, but I have no sympathy for anyone who uses games as an excuse to kill. But he was a gamer. It was said that he played Counter-Strike pretty often, so he's a gamer. And let's be honest. Since Columbine, you've never thought about taking a gun to school? And no, he didn't use games as an excuse to kill. Jack Thompson and Dr. Phil pinned it on video games.
