Eh, I've never seen the first Tron. I didn't get most of it.
Well, I got the whole "portal" thing, and the science-fiction bits, but one question still haunts me...
Who the eff was Tron, anyway??

My boyfriend and I are absolutely convinced that Daft Punk were actually in the mixing booth in that club in Tron. >>;
I bought the soundtrack, and it's amazing~ >w<
Oh, and I did now you were one of the first few members, Neko, I've been through the backlogs in some of the threads that have been around since the inception. ^^;

You MUST watch the first one to completely understand the second!
Tron was a program created by Alan to defeat the MCP, Master Control Program, in the first movie.
The MCP was a program that was originally run by the top executive of Encom, but it was so advanced that it developed a mind and personality of its own and decided it no longer needed users and would take over both the technologic and real world.
Tron was a defense program made to defeat it.
When Flynn, Sam Flynn, was ported into the technologic world, he and Tron worked together to take down the MCP.
That's about it in a nutshell.
