Shane stretched out as Zann fire-floated down to his arena. "Enguarde." he said to the demon as he reared back and howled to the night.

((You were, on one account, a wolf waiting for me, and the other one was like 'a wolf is just sitting there? all this magic is affecting my brain'))

Zann was confused for a second, for two reasons. There was a telapath talking to him, and suddenly the boy was a wolf. 'Get out of my head! I'm in the middle of a fight!' He thought in his head, for the the telapath. "Hmm... nice wolf form. It shall be still as easy." Zann said to the wolf-boy. "Let's see you howl out of this. Radahka!" Zann said, and flames appeared in his hands. "Ha!" Zann said and threw the fire at the wolf-boy. He shaped a sword out of flames and charged at him with fireballs in mid-flight.

Shane darted around the fireballs with swift motions and leaped over the demon with the flaming sword. Seizing the opportunity, Shane morphed back into human form and drew his sword. He ran his hand up and down the sword, chanting an incantation that would sharpen and strengthen it, as well as add an electrical element to it. He rushed at Zann and swung his sword.

Alex stopped thinking except for quickly thinking I'll shut up but, be careful! to Zann before she snapped to make her broom appear. After she sat on her broom then she snapped and her cat appeared on her lap . She was sitting and watching them fight and waiting with her wand to extinguish the dangerous flames that could burn down the school.

Zann was surprised the wolf dodged all that. He quickly turned around and blocked the sword. "I've been training for just this situation." He said to his opponent in the brief seconds of the block. He said his fire spell once more and more flames came out of the sword. More powerful flames, but only a few seconds.

Shane was blasted back from the force of the flames. He growled a bit. "That word he keeps speaking. What is it that makes these flames?" he thought. He was thinking that if he could catch the word, he too could control the flames. "But enough of that," he thought aloud, "back to the fight!" He got up and laid his sword across his shoulder, pointed his index and middle fingers at Zann, and said: "Zelitros!" which caused a lightning bolt to shoot forth from his fingertips. "Let's see him dodge that..." he thought with a smirk. Lightning was the fastest of all elements, so if Zann somehow dodged it, he would either have to be extremely lucky or quicker than light.

Zann was satisfied that his flames blasted Shane back. But when he blasted the lightning at him, Zann was almost hopeless. His flames-sword disappeared and he put his hands in front of him. "Radahka!" Zann shouted and the flames came out once more. the absorbed most of the lightning, and he was zapped slightly. But the flames had an electric aura to them. "Cool..." Zann said to himself, looking at his hands. Anyways... He thought, and shot the electric-flames at Shane. Zann drew his metal sword from his back and enhanced it, which set it on fire. "One touch, and the flames won't stop 'til they burn through the skin." Zann said, and charged.

Alexandra could tell what Zann was planning on doing and gasped. ZANN!!! What are you doing!!!! It'll burn through his skin!! Oh and if you still haven't figured it out, It's me Alex. she "said" to him.

"Diedrin!" Shane shouted as he held out his sword, which glowed with a greenish-blue aura. The sword absorbed the thunderflames, which then enveloped the sword itself. Shane crossed his sword with Zann's, and he could feel the intense heat of the flames of which Zann spoke. "One touch, eh?" he asked, locked with Zann in a contest of endurance and muscle. He grinned wickedly. He had heard all he needed to. He broke the contest and stepped back. "Radahka!" he shouted, but nothing happened. His eyes widened as he watched Zann's flames envelope him. He felt the searing pain of the fire. He could even feel parts of his skin melting... "Hah.. so this is the end..." he thought. He opened his arms and laughed. He was fully prepared to die.

With a whirl, Lucien stepped in the middle of the arena. "Skalin ferias malordu!" he shouted, and all magic ceased, including the hellish fire that Zann unleashed. "What in the name of Hellfire were you thinking?!?" he shouted at Zann. "You could've effing well killed him! Sal'dar!" he swore. Lucien was furious. Something he never was. Ever. But the welfare of his students is something that motivates him like no other. He picked up the other boy. "Come on, let's get you to the Healer's Quarter." he told him.



"Hana..." Shane moaned. "Take me to.. Hana." he finished as he fell unconscious.



Lucien nodded and rushed as fast as he could. He knew where Hana was staying that night, he had read the boy called Shane's thoughts.

Hana jerked awake, immeadiatly noticing that Shane was no longer curled up at the foot of the bed. An instant later she saw flashes of light coming from the window, and muffled, far-off talking. Sprinig from the bed she rushed to the window. Yes, there were two figures on the sparring feild... one of them seemed to be Zann, the demon student, and the other... was that Shane???
Without even considering the 3-story-drop, she leaped out the window. She was not human, after all, and her body was considerably stronger. As she approached, to her horror, she saw Zann engulf Shane in flames! she wanted to call out but saved her strength to put on an extra burst of speed instead. she felt a small sense of releif when she saw the headmaster.
When she finally approached, she called out 'What's going on?? How bad is he?' she feared the answer, but prepared herself, tapping into her healing powers.
