********************************************************* Sebastian came into class a little late. Though not late enough to really count. He sat down next to christian. Leaving back in his chair he listened to the lesson. The chamber of secrets sounded awesome! "Now that the Basilisk is gone, can we go down there?" he asked. Might as well be worth a try, he thought to himself. *********************************************************

The chamber of secrets did seem like an interesting topic. It would allow them to speak more freely form their imaginations, rather than learn boring facts all day. He sat back in his seat and listened to the others speak.
"So, was Slytherin blood actually required, or would any Parselmouth have been able to control the basilisk?" Daniel asked. "The two things might be related, but the Parselmouth ability isn't exclusive to the Slytherin bloodline," Daniel pointed out.

☾ ☆ ★ ☆ ☽Shayna Aileen Snow☾ ☆ ★ ☆ ☽
I knew you were trouble when you walked in, So shame on me now, Flew me to places I've never been, Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground.
I am Eleven years old, a Ravenclaw student. I am a half-blood standing with Thursday (8:00 AM-8:45 AM) and wondering (Wow!!!).
Shayna looked over at Daniel."I don't think that such a powerful creature would be able to be controlled. Maybe manipulated or talked to. But certainly not controlled. Am I right professor?"She asked. She was hoping she wasn't wrong but then again that meant that anyone who was parselmouth and slytherin could start attacking people... OH gooodness how frightful...
Grayson looked up from his book as he noticed the students coming in. He didn't know how long he had been sitting reading, but the effect was always the same. Usually it would end with him being confused about what was going on, but today was different. He was supposed to be teaching the class, and as usual, it left him a bit awkward as to how to go about it. He however decided to go about doing it the simple way.
"Hello, class, and welcome to History of Magic. I am your professor, Grayson Powell. In this class, there is no wandwork, since magic doesn't help you to learn about history. Therefore, your wands will need to be put away."He stood, taking his feet from off the desk and faced the children directly. "History is a collection of events, as I'm sure you are all well aware of. However, these events help to shape the world around us. If not for the witch burnings of the sixteen hundreds, we would not have the Statue of Secrecy. If not for the crises of the last century, we would not have cooperation of all magical folk."He glanced around the class, letting his gaze fall over each of the students."Now, can someone tell me, besides what I have stated, why history needs to be learned?"

Quietly, Edajin wandered into his History of Magic class. It didn't seem like many students had arrived so far.. Had he really been so early. Taking his seat silently, he noted what the teacher said about no wand work. He supposed that was alright, as he didn't properly know how to use it yet, anyway. Now, on to the subject of History.. Edajin remembered reading A History of Magic last summer, at home, when his father was busy. He'd found it rather fascinating, but it was difficult to say why.. So, why was history important? He tilted his head silently, his gaze fixed on some mundane object in front of him. ".. Because.. If we don't know where we came from... It is difficult to know where we are going.." He thought that this answer sufficiently summed up his view of history, at least. ".. From a person's individual history, to the history of countries and even the world, everyone has to have a starting point - a point from which all knowledge and learning follows, and progress is made.." Alright, now that he was feeling far too wordy, he shut up and ducked his head, his gaze resting to the floor at his feet while he felt his face heat up a bit. The last thing that he needed was to draw unnecessary attention to himself.

Cause we like having fun at other peoples expense and, Cutting people down is just a minor offence then, It's none of your concern, I guess I'll never learn. I'm sick of being told to wait my turn.

The clear hum of rolling wheels screeched at the door as Crash skated in on his board, he halted at the doorway, kicked his board up in the air and caught it flawlessly with his fingers before stepping foot in the classroom. The Slytherin boy was here, and first, again. He shrugged his shoulders and thought little of it as meandered in and sat down; his skateboard under his desk and his satchel at his side. Given the chance to speak again, Crash was quick to reiterate on what Edajin had said. ”Not only that, but history has a way of repeating itself, so if we study about what happened then, about the tragedies that happened, like the Holocaust, then it’ll help ya’ll not make the same mistake twice.”He nodded his head definitively, his southern American accent ringing clear as a bell. He was idly versed in most affairs of the muggle world—whenever he paid attention, that is—and had hardly heard his mum mention too many stories about the wizarding world; except for the ones about Harry Potter. He loved those stories.

First Year | Slytherin | Single | @ History of Magic I
When Noah got into his next class, History of Magic I, the same students from his Herbology class were the first two there. Damn.. Early again... Noah did not want to make the first impression about being a teacher's pet, especially in this class. Noah despised history, mostly due to the history with his father, but Noah didn't want to get his class into trouble, so he would have to do his best to just stay under the radar.
When the teacher asked a question, and the other two students answer, he could feel the professors eyes move towards him expecting a response... Crap.. I don't want to answer, but it looks like I don't have much of a choice... Noah took a deep breath and answered, "I guess I agree with everything else that's been said. To add to what Crash said- from learning the history of things, we can pick up on the trends that eventually led to things such as the First and Second Wizarding War. So, we know how to stop it."
Noah essentially reworded Crash's response... But it was an answer and he couldn't think of anything else. He wasn't looking to be the best student in that class, as a matter of fact, he couldn't wait to get out of it.
After being in two classes so far with Crash, Noah was starting to get a read on him. He thought the other boy seemed much like himself, lax and collected but also not too eager to be the teachers pet. The only difference was that he was a Gryffindor, Slytherin's house rivals...

ᑕᙓᑕᓰᒪᒪᙓ stood in the doorway of the classroom, her books clutched to her chest and her cane gripped tightly in her free hand. Tap! Tap! Tap! The Ravenclaw made her way across the room, her white hair tied up in pigtails that bounced with every step she took. The tip of her cane hit a desk, and after carefully maneuvering herself, she sat down in the chair and turned to face what she assumed to be the front of the classroom. So, this was History of Magic? History was a favorite of hers to study. At the professor's question, she raised her hand and called out her answer. "I think that we all need to learn about our history because it's 'our' history. Our ancestors must have worked hard to be mentioned in our textbooks, and if I were them, I'd want to be remembered for what I did. So, in conclusion, I think it's a way to honor what the witches and wizards before have accomplished." Yeah, that sounded okay. Cecille nervously released her grasp on her textbook, setting it down on the desk in front of her. Who was she sitting by? Anyone? She couldn't tell at the moment.

❀"Look like th' innocent flower,
☆═━┈┈━═☆ Begrudgingly, Danielle slowly made her way to History. It had to be one of her least favorite subjects. Still, it was magic history. Perhaps it would be more interesting than what she was accustomed to? Green eyes scanned the room for a seat before choosing to sit next to a very pale Ravenclaw girl with white pigtails. Ravenclaw's were known for their brains and wit, right? So it wouldn't hurt to try and befriend the girl. Before she could introduce herself though, the professor began talking and Danielle tried to focus. She honestly couldn't see why it was important. Sure the knowledge of what it was like back then was important in some cases, but who cared about a bunch of dead people? When the girl next to her stood up and gave and answer, Danielle was expecting one similar to the previous answers before but was surprised to hear something different. While Danielle, herself didn't agree with it, she still liked the answer. "Nice answer." she whispered to the girl. ☆═━┈┈━═☆

xxxMaking her way down the halls to her History class. Luckily she had grabbed a map so she wouldn't get lost. It showed her where she was and line showed what she needed to follow. In no time she was there, already students were taking seats. Carefully she selected a seat not to close to the front nor to far in the back. Just right for her in the middle. Tucking her bag under her seat she had taken out her history book, parchment and quill and lined it up perfectly on her desk. Book in upper left corner, quill opposite to it at the right, parchment to the right not quite centered to the middle so she could still rest her hands. Her friends use to say she had OCD about this but she liked this to be in order.
xxxWaiting patiently for the professor to notice her had a class to a but long than she cared for. Finally the man had seen wondering eyes all staring at him intently. As he straightened up and addressed the class with instructions and a question Amelia feel silent. She listened to everyone's answers. No one learns from history, it always repeats itself in one form or another. Wars, disease, murdering, peace, treaties and more war. Just a endless loop. One reason Ami didn't prefer history class it reminded her of how much the human race was a mere child. "It always repeats..." she mumbled under her breath.
Been far away for far too long I keep dreaming you'll be with me and you'll never go Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore
Being of the quiet type, Rowan listened as others answered the question. Sounded fair enough. He would rather not speak during this class if at all possible. He was concerned with maintaining his good grades so that his parents didn't decide that sending a howler would be necessarily needed.

Pod had quietly entered the room, similarly to how he had for Herbology. He found this classroom much harder to find than the last had been and was quite amazed to see he was not too late. Taking a quick seat a few desks behind the girl with green hair, he listened quietly to the professor's short introduction of the subject and question. Pod had a few things he thought would be sufficient answers, but no where near enough courage to raise his hand and offered them. Instead he listened as a few other students offered their thoughts and wondered if anyone would voice what he had in his head. He was surprised that a lot of the same notion was being repeated; a bit disheartened to say the least. He found the subject of history, of any sort, fascinating. History of Magic was perhaps his most anticipated class and Pod was eager for it to begin. He hoped there were at least one or two students in the class who shared his notion.

||The two sisters had entered the classroom much in the same fashion as they had for the other one: neck in neck and perfectly coordinated together. They took seats in a similar placement as they had before and glanced at the relaxed teacher, Chell found him rather interesting. He seemed a bit unfocused and she wondered if that meant the class would be any easier to handle. At the opportunity of his question she raised her hand and offered an answer with a different tone to the other's given previously, "From studying history we have also recovered old, lost technology and techniques. Like the way ancient Greeks and Romans built arches and domes and cement." satisfied with her answer, she lowered her hand with a slightly smug grin, glancing around for any other's with eager answers on their lips.||

Magda took the seat to Chell's right and began sorting through their shared books and supplies as she listened idly to the light chatter in the classroom and the raised answers. The girl still had yet to decide if there was any subject she was more eager to begin than others, but everything seemed equally interesting: and so much of the class hinged on the professors' abilities. She hoped for the best.
Miles slipped into class, trying to hide the fact that he was late and probably failing at it. Oh well. He looked around and just decided to take a seat next to a nervous-looking boy. He gave him a small grin and then focused a bit on the class. When the professor asked about history, Miles took a moment to think on his response before speaking."Erm, I guess history's important because everythin' has a beginnin' and we should really understand where we came from to see where we're goin'. That, and it helps ta better understand people who are different from ourselves. Least that was that I got from me past lessons in history."
Just goes to show that life can't be deadly serious, you just need to learn to laugh a little.
