Happy New Year everyone!

I managed to stay up to midnight to ring in the new year and a bit beyond that (long enough to ring in the new year for Hawaii's time zone).

The evening started with a video chat with the extended family. It was pretty fun to see everyone who was able to join. And of course we have the classic video chat mishaps - tech issues and a cat trying to get in the action. xd Then I watched one of my friend's streams as they played games, beat up a homemade piñata in the shape of 2020, and what not. And then we raided another channel - Bootie Mashup - listening to some great DJing and ringing in the New Year for each time zone. sweatdrop

I also had d**k Clark's New Years Bash going on the TV in the background too but not much captured my interest for a good portion of the time, so it wasn't really being watched. sweatdrop

Of course it's a little rough having stayed up so late... and then have to get up early for my work shift today. Still a little disappointed we aren't doing holiday hours this year because of COVID stuff. Yeah, I'm getting extra money I normally wouldn't be getting but at the same time... I don't what the hell I'm going to entertain myself with for a full day's worth of a shift when nothing is happening because of the holiday.

stressed 3 1/2 hours left until I can get off work.

I woke up in a fairly good mood despite major cramps due to T.O.M. However, my mood quickly shifted into being constantly annoyed/irritated. Residents have been impatient or constantly bugging me about something I've already addressed.

I had been listening to Taylor Swift's albums earlier but it was too calm and relaxing, and was starting to conflict with the emotions I was having as the morning progressed.

It is so intriguing to see the posts my former co-worker friend is posting these days. Now she's starting to post about how mandating getting the COVID vaccine is like rape. First off - the vaccine is not being mandated in an overall sense. Only certain places are requiring it... which isn't really that surprising since there's other tests or vaccines places require and there's no issue with it... so why is it such a big deal for you with this?

There's a part of me that feels like she's tying her personal past relationship experiences in with the whole COVID situation more and more as time passes. I understand how terrible those experiences are... but trying to equivalent COVID as the same thing is... a bit extreme.

Even some of her other FB friends are responding to her posts like "Wait, what?" and wanting her to provide more evidence of where her shared stances are coming from (i.e. the vaccine being mandated). I can tell a lot of us are just going "Uh, what is up with you?" and "Have you even looked to see if the information presented here is true? Or are you just posting it because it's matches with your misinformed view?"
