I feel like a jerk now. sad Gale's been having troubles, and I've been pestering him about a little roleplay.
As for advice, I haven't a clue what you should do. Sorry. I wish I could be more helpful.

Get a part time job, make it so that it's only 10 hours a week. I mean....it depends on the school your going to, at my college 10 hours a week would be very manigable. But talk it over with the employer, see if there willing to work with you on a good schedule so that you can get some money so you won't starve.

Food is about $5 for a meal, and that's a small meal too.
At $8 an hour, i'd have to be working at least 12-15 a week, just so that I can live off of it without having to ask my parents for money.
I have a class load of about 13 units. It's about 15 hours of classes, or something close to that. They recommend 2 hours of studying for every hour of class I have. And I believe them . . . so really, I should be studying for about 25 hours, which means my total education time would run up to 40 hours a week . . . x.X

That's probably why 10 hours a week is easy to do. I'm shooting to be a Mechanical Engineer. Calculations say that it's going to take me at least 6-7 years to finish with a double degree in Aerospace Engineering as well.

Entry level salary is anywhere from $40k-50k a year.
Technically, I can XP. I'm still learning. I'm not very good with anything related to drawing.

if you practice at it, you might be able to commission out for technical drawings.

I feel for ya, Gale. I also am doing what amounts to a shitload of schoolwork, and a full time job to support house payment, car payment, two kids, and trying to find time for a family and friends somewhere in there. All I can say is to look at your options and find what is the basic minimum.
If you do not get a minor job, you will starve. Then your grades will most certainly slip. I would ask, do you really have a choice? crying I am sorry that you are going through this, espically as I live in the same suburb you are in now, figuratively speaking.

40h of school = a full time job. Meaning 8h 5 days a week. Concidering that a part time job shouldn't be too tough to handle on top of school work~ I mean you just simply work during the weekend, or a long day on saturday~ Depends of course on what kind of work it would be. I've done worse... *shrug* If you enjoy school and like working hard it's possible to do. Sure, your social life suffers some, but most real friends will adjust and understand why you're doing it. Just cut down on other crap that isn't necessary, like Gaia. And uhm... try to take some holidays off so that you don't get overworked <<;; But yeah, work on the actual common holidays if you can (because the money is good and then you have time) and then take time off some other time instead. Damn I feel like I'm being really mean and harsh here... but that's life. My little kiki will cheer you on <3

Let's see here, 24 x 7 (for total hours in a week) = 168... 9 x 7 (for sleep) = 68... 13-15 hours of school + 26-30 hours of study time = 39-45... 10-11 hours to eat (unless you're one of those people that eats freakishly fast)...
So you have roughly 44-51 free hours a week. Which equals about 6-7 free hours a day.

Gale, get a job at a gas station or something where they allow you to study for school when you are not busy.
Also, when I was in the psych ward *cough* there was a guy whos job it was to make sure I didnt become violent and hang myself or something and all he did the whole time was study. There are jobs where you have down time and you can use it to study!
