Anubis thought for a minute, thinking of a way to say it. "When I answered your question about knowing things." He answered, really wanting to know.

Aud knew what he was saying. She just didn't want to answer. "Oh..." Aud forced a smile. "Um...I really don't know..." she lied. Aud was very stubborn. Meaning, she'd do a lot just to cover up little things. "Just looked there I guess." She shifted her weight again. "Um..."
Aud felt bad not telling Anubis the truth. Which was weird for her. She sighed. "Really want to know...?" she asked, hoping he'd say no. But knowing he'd say yes.

Anubis could tell she was lying, the semi-warm feeling of the feather told him that. "If I said no, I'd be lying and I'd become a pile of ash." He sighed.

scarlet walked the down the path slowly towards the graveyard gates.

"Right..." she murmered, leaning against a weathered gravestone. Aud sighed, looking up to Anubis. "I looked down because..." she started. "Well...I didn't want you to see the blood going to my face. Because...I asked about your ability...for a reason." She said, glancing around. Where is someone when you need them? Aud thought, hoping for some kind of distraction.

Anubis nodded. "Something you don't know about yourself that you want to know?" He asked, just a guess, mostly.

Aud looked at him, her eyes wide. "Yeah." She managed to get
out. "Yeah." she repeated.

Anubis smiled slightly. "So what do you want to know?" He asked, not sounding sarcastic at all.

Aud didn't smile. She did quite the opposite. "I just met you." She said, crossing her arms. "Why should I tell you?" All she really wanted was an excuse to not tell Anubis. Somethng to save her from the embarrassment. Aud didn't want to hurt his feelings or anything, she didn't want to seem like a jerk, and she didn't want to sound like a two-year-old. But she couldn't tell Anubis. "Give me one good reason."

Anubis frowned. He didn't know why she was so defensive all of the sudden, but he wouldn't push it. "I guess I don't have one." He muttered, accidentally mummifying the muffin he'd been holding with bandages that came from his sleeves.

Aud nodded, looking away from Anubis. She almost smiled when the muffin became mummified. Almost. "I'm sorry, Anubis." she said quietly. "I just don't know how I'd tell you...Plus, I'm not sure I want someone inside my heart." Aud added that last part almost to herself.

Maria walked through the graveyard
she stopped at a small tomb
her eyes welled up with tears
she sat down next to the grave
pulled her hands up to her pale face and cried

Anubis looked at the muffin sadly. 'Twas a good muffin.' he thought, refocusing on Aud. "Oh, okay." He muttered, looking down.

Aud sighed, knowing she should have been at least a bit kinder. "Can I make it up to you or something?" she asked, really wishing she hadn't been such a jerk.

Anubis dropped the muffin and sighed. "No, it's fine." He said, still looking at the mummified muffin.
