In the game (Digital Devil Saga), Atma is a person's inner demons (figurative). When infected with the 'Demon Virus', their inner demons transform into a very real demon (like Pixie, Cu Chulainn, so forth), and they can then transform into a demon at will. This comes with the nasty side effects of cannibalism (you have to eat other people who can turn into demons to survive), and slowly going insane/turning into your inner demon completely. Of course, no one really lives long enough for that to happen. >_>
Our Atma is the Demon Virus infects you, presumably before anyone can remember. It's old, so yeah it could go through families, and it doesn't have those nasty side effects. Also, you power up by eating "Atma Cores" dropped by important enemies. Like, if you participate in a storyline.
More...family friendly.
<_< The explanation for what the virus is/where it came from in the guild is yet to be revealed. We plan to reveal all things in time though, so...muahahahaa.

For those of you mods on staff who just got a PM from me, that's a Beta profile for a potential Mayonaka Arena-style App we might open up here in the Guild.
It's not necessarily the finished product, yet...we're still discussing a few details to work it out. I just sent that out as a sort of, "This might be happening!" notice, and for suggestions, thoughts.

Imagine that you're creating a version of Kisa that would go into Mayonaka Arena the video game...there's no way you could simply have 40-or-whatever abilities and just switch between them, changing her specs as you go, right? She's going to have a set point distribution and skill list, when you think of it that way...it's just a matter of picking some good ones from the variety you have that best suit her.
Also, 'Finishers' are kind of meant to be like your Hyper Combo/SuperCombo finishes ala Street Fighter/Tekken/other fighting games. They're generally not...passive abilities. More of power-attack skills. And power attack skills you have/could have (or within your current skill level...or close to it, at least) Capiche`?
