Like the sands of a beach's shore, the outside world seemed to wash further and further away with each passing moment. Once again, the man and woman were in this position. A position filled with more options than either of them could count even if they had an eternity to do so. The soft folds that were Kate's lips were locked with Che's in a kiss that undoubtedly filled with the emotions the two had forcefully suppressed due to their recent 'jobs'. If they weren't saving a city, they were trying to kill a single, super powered Owl. If one was slowly healing, then the other was quickly dying...there was no such thing as free time anymore. Even this moment...this beautiful moment in which it seemed as though they had all the time in the world was but a lie...

Che couldn't deduce whether or not his embrace brought on a whisking sensation. It had been so long since he relaxed...since he let himself fall prey to the situation at hand that the sensation of being weightless was foreign only unless he was being teleported. Out of the two probably causes, it just had to be the worst one. When Satan's voice spoke with a sarcastic, joking tone, the Mastering Owl knew where he was, how he got there and why he was brought there in the first place. His violet eyes which were so filled with passion that he had to close them were now half open with a blank gaze. The beams of sunlight were now gone. The carpeted floor was now hard against his shoeless feet and Kate was already detached from him leaving him to stand perfectly still. Lips still puckered and fingers still in position, Che simply stood after the Russian woman shoved him away. From the frozen expression that contorted Che's features, one could tell that his level of disappointment and surprise was through the roof....

After maybe five or six seconds of thinking of what could've and should've been, Che dropped his hand to his side, licked his lips, then lowered his head. His right hand was already rubbing the bridge of his nose in slight annoyance, but he opted against the Kate reaction route. Instead, he shook his head, his frizzy hair waiving as if in a breeze, and said to Will all the while keeping his head low and his face palmed, "Probably should've showed up here a BIT----a bit more earlier......how are you doing this morning Will? Fine I assume....even better now that you've....you've killed me yet again..."

Roulin made his way to the last few articles and accessories he had to get for himself. As he wasn't Erin's maid, he expected her to get her own things. Then again, she was a program right? If she misplaced her operating system in this room, the rats my have gotten to it by now...Roulin looked over his shoulder at Lucien when he made a quip regarding his old body. The Life Owl could only grin at the statement. If Lucien could look back on it and laugh, then so could he. Then, the next tidbit of the man's life was produced. This made Roulin stop, giving his old ex girlfriend a passing condolence. It lasted for only a second and after that second passed, Roulin gave Aimee no more thought. It was her power that he was more concerned with anyway. "Yeah...that's nice. You can heal now...." said Roulin rolling his eyes. Due to his position, Lucien couldn't see this, but from his tone, his tone that dripped with venomous sarcasm, the genius should easily be able to tell that it bothered him a little.

"Eh....well, I guess that means the next time we fight, it'll be a long, long fight won't it? For now though, I'm actually trying to be casual. No fighting...just getting to where we need to be so I can finish off a Raven." And so it began just like that. While Aimee's death didn't faze the Italian in anyway, it was the fact that Lucien now had her aura meaning that he could heal. Giving another sigh to the thought of having to fight someone who was now more like him than anyone else, he turned and headed towards the door. "Heh, the collar....we're working on that. Don't worry about it. Right now, we need to get to the next hotel and try to figure something out. All of us. As a team. Alright? Let's go."

Throughout all of this, Roulin remained unchanging as Erin spoke directly into his mind. She had nothing to worry about in regards to Jeannie. If she did decided to sneak around in his mind, he'd give her something to make her reconsider doing it ever again. To keep Erin in the dark about him already knowing Jeannie, the long haired man replied just as she may have expected him to. ~Alright, Erin. Just make sure you give me all the info you have okay?~

Lucien smirked at Roulin's lack of response. He folded his arms and opened his mouth to speak. "And here I was told Death was a b***h, looks like Life is no different." He could tell Roulin had a problem with this event, with them both now able to heal if they ever did fight it would indeed be long. "We'll try to keep the fighting to a minimum no need for Life and Death to have a fight over the past now." Lucien leaned against a wall, hearing that they were going to another hotel he wondered why but decided that that was irrelevant. he wondered why Roulin was in such a hurry to kill Raven, was there something beyond the surface of simply wanting to end the life of the person ho had thrown the world into chaos? Lucien chuckled a little, looking at Roulin he said. "You're in quite the hurry. But why? We just got here, why not sit down and share a drink we can catch up on old times, you know like when I caved in your skull with a shovel, or when you impaled me on a crystal spike. They're both such fond memories." For as much sarcasm as Roulin threw at Lucien he could throw it right back. He wondered where they were going, besides the obvious of a hotel. His head snapped up a little as Roulin called them a team. "Team? Well now this is nostalgic, we haven't been on a team sense we were both in the Night Owls, that didn't end to well either, if i remembered right I killed Giovanni and then was hunted down by you guys. Don't worry thogh, I don't hold a grudge if our roles had been reversed I would have done the exact same thing."

Aeon heard Cecilia's comment and said nothing. It was kind of annoying that Cecilia was such a goodie goodie at times. One drink wouldn't do any harm to her. "Okay I won't drink my life a way, geesh CeCe, lighten up a little" she said to her. Soon the waiter came back with her order. She reached into the baby bag and pulled out a bottle of formula she had made before they got here. Shaking it, she began to feed Aiden. She casually took a sip of her margarita.

Jeannie looked at the others in silence. She wasn't aware that Erin was telepathically communicating, in fact Jeannie wouldn't even think that she was a threat to these people because she was in a hive mind. Unlike Elle and Erin's once co-communicating brains, this one was a hierarchy type, Elle being the dominant mind. As the two men went back and forth with sarcasm, she began to think about her brother for some reason. He had been dead for a while and seemed to be the only person who truly understood her.

Vincent had soon came out of the building and went towards Amara. "So I guess it's safe to say that we aren't exactly safe" he said with a worried expression. He soon remembered he found a set of keys, the keys normally opened the doors, cells and collars of the inmates. "Here Amara, I have a key, you can unlock your collar now" he said to her with a smile.

Amara looked at Vincent and smiled. Taking the key she tucked it in her garment, right beneath the collar. "Okay let's get the hell out of here" she said to him. Across the way there was a vehicle. Waving the key in front of it, it opened as Amara, Vincent and the young kid climbed inside. Starting the car it began to float into the air and speed towards the center of the city. Amara really didn't know where she was going but she figured that most people of power lied in the heart of a facility. "Vincent I just want to say that whatever happens, I'm so proud of you as a student" she said to him with a smile. The ride however was short lived as the vehicle was being shot down, crashing to the ground. Amara pushed the key back into her collar as they were now surrounded.

((Che's UNS - Will))

Will simply grinned in response to Kate's retort and Che's blank stare. If Will knew of the game that Che had offered Kate to play, he had already won. He chuckled as he gestured again to the sofa. His timing had been perfect. As Che suggested, the devil had killed the moment. It was Che's own fault. He shouldn't have kept his mentor waiting. The dark haired student had felt that time was of essence, but had taken his sweet time. "You? Yes, it is I. Ah, sweet Katherine, too bad you'll just have to wait longer for me~ I know you desire me more than you'll admit... but for now, do take a seat and have some breakfast." The blonde demon wasn't hitting on Kate. He was just being himself.

Will looked to Che with more of a smirk than before. His grey eyes twinkled with a level of sadistic merriness that could be interpreted in so many ways. His student had finally wiped that look off his face and was a bit embarrassed and moaning internally about Will's timing. The fact that Che wouldn't meet Will's eyes was more than enough evidence of that. "Oh, enough about me, Cheani. Though I suppose I don't need to ask about you and Kate either. Now, have some breakfast and we'll talk business.'

Bailey was clearly taken aback by Lucien's words. She hadn't even removed the collar yet. She had been waiting until Roulin and she were in a secluded area so as not to risk the lives of innocents. Lucien definitely needed to get his eyes checked, perhaps he needed glasses. Bailey, for one, thought he might have looked quite adorable in them. Her body tensed, but only for a brief second when he mentioned Luca. She'd had no contact with him since she had been sent here, a little over two months ago. Truth be told, she missed him. She missed having someone to talk to who seemed to truly understand her, but she couldn't even begin go guess where he was located right now. She didn't possess that form of knowledge.

The Diclonious Owl blinked, once...twice...when Erin spoke telepathically to her with concerns and warnings regarding Jeannie. Bailey wasn't exactly surprised by the fact that Erin was telepathic for she had seen the Artistic Owl demonstrate such abilities in South America when she had drawn the blueprints to the original floating island of Exire due to Cecilia's vision. Due to the fact that Bailey knew nothing about Jeannie, she remained on neutral ground. Other than the fact that Jeannie seemed to hang around Lucien all the time, clearly desiring something from him, there was no other evidence that she could not be trusted. Still, Bailey would be wary around her just in case there was something amiss.

Bailey directed her aquamarine eyes towards Lucien who seemed to want to sit down and enjoy a drink. She arched her left eyebrow at him. "Having a drink and catching up old times is one thing, but do you really want to do it in this poor excuse for a motel? Look at this?" Two of her vectors emerged once again and traveled towards the bed, while Bailey remained in one spot. The two vectors gripped the bottom of the bed and lifted it upwards. The bed wasn't exactly big, but it still would have been a bit too heavy for anyone to lift in the normal fashion, yet Bailey's vectors had lifted massive slabs of concrete before, a bed was like a feather to them.

As she did that, roaches, which had been hiding scurried out. They darted for the dark corners of the room trying to escape the light. On the bottom of the bed, spiders clung to their webs, and these were not the tiny spiders, but rather large spiders. Bailey removed her vectors allowing the bed fall back down with a loud thud. Because of the weak state of the floor, holes were created where the legs made their mark. "This place is falling apart. Now while I'm sure we'd all survive, I'd rather not have this dump falling down on top of us. So if we are going to, as you say, catch up, I'd rather do it at that hotel that Roulin has made reservations in."

Kate was beyond mortified at the moment. Her immediate reaction was of course, her anger with Will. He just had to go and ruin that blissful moment. It was probably one of the very few moments Kate had considered herself happy. Will was the reincarnation of Satan, but that didn't excuse his uncalled for actions. As such, Kate had every right to act in this manner, and she couldn't understand why Che wasn't acting the same way. However, Kate's focus was not on Che's lack of reaction. It was directed toward that monster of a Satan Owl who insisted upon jeering at both her and Che for the manner in which he had brought them here and the extremely awkward timing of it. Seething and mortified, Kate had really lost control over her reactions at the moment. Kate's hands clenched into fists keep herself from shaking too much. It only worked as much as it possibly could. She could feel her nails digging into her palms, but that didn't really matter right now.

When she heard what Che said to Will, Kate's eyes looked over at the Mastering Owl. "Che! What is the matter with you?! Why do you still cater to this abomination's every whim?!" Kate shouted, pointing at the smirking Will. She didn't care if the game rules that Che had made up earlier were in effect. She was mortified, but more so by what had happened to bring them here and what Will had done than by Che's calm reaction. An awful thought crossed her mind then and a look of pure hurt crossed her features for a split second. However, Kate managed enough restraint not to voice what she thought was really going on. Che would never do that... would he?

With Will's next words, Kate's icy and withering glare returned to the main reason for this outburst. The Eternity Owl made her way over to Will who was lounging in his leather chair like he was getting his own private comedy show. She did not stop her approach until she was less than a foot away from Will's chair. Kate looked down her nose at the smirking Satan Owl as she spoke in a venomous tone, "Desire you? Ha! How can anyone love a monster like you? And you had the gall to court Noel Anderson... She deserved better than what you gave her, if you gave her anything at all." Kate's cold blue eyes narrowed dangerously before she turned her back on Will and made her way back across the room towards the door to what she presumed was the hallway. The Russian Owl yanked open the ornate door and stepped out of the room, slamming the door behind her. She could no longer stand to be in there as she would risk a breakdown in both Che's and Will's presence.

While Nik was busy making lunch, Anya sat down at the table. She placed the mp3 player and the headphones on the table in front of her. Oddly enough she didn't feel the need to use them at the moment. Anya began fiddling harmlessly with the bandages on her hand out of boredom while waiting. After a few moments, Anya spoke up loud enough for Nik to hear her over the noises in the kitchen. "I don't think I need to use the headphones right now. Its quiet now." The Poison Owl leaned an elbow onto the table next to her, supporting her head with her hand. She was kinda bored.

Roulin stepped from the door-less doorjamb into the white wonderland just outside of the hotel room. Bailey was steady voicing her opinion about the quality of the living space and that brought a grin to Owl's pale, soon to be shivering lips. Folding his hands into his pockets and opting not to use Itachi's ability to heat himself, he dragged his feet through the snow. "Trust me Lucien. While I still do hold shards and remnants of respect towards you, it is still overshadowed by my disgust in your recent actions. While there won't be any fighting now..." said Roulin as he looked over his shoulder past his up turned collar, "there will be later. It's...inevitable as such as yourself might even say." The Italian didn't dread the fight anymore than he did dying at his hands. What assured him and gave him the confidence he needed was the notion of Lucien's less than offensive powers. Only his inherited abilities as the Death Owl struck a cord of weariness in the young man's heart.

"Heh. It is that reason why I'm in a hurry. I want to speak on a few issues that've been plaguing me. Surely, you do too what with your master plan coming closer and closer to fruition." The Life Owl knew that his path was becoming akin to Lucien's...if even he could see this, then he knew there was an issue somewhere to be resolved. Maybe the old friend that Roulin hoped was still within Lucien would attempt to help in some way or fashion. "Heh, not for nostalgia right now. Especially of those days...when you killed Giovanni, betrayed us and stamped Dante's trust into the dirt. I don't hold grudges either. If I did, my philosophy would be rendered a lie......and we'd be at each other's throats right now." And even through the heartache and pain, Roulin still found himself in good spirits in Lucien's presence. As he said before, this was no longer about them, though anyone looking in would definitely disagree. Still, the fledgling Life Owl knew that when the time came, one of them would have to die for the sake of the world. As long as that moment remained in the distance due to outside forces, their temporary alliance would transpire very, very smoothly.

~~~
Weakly and tired, Che's figure fell onto the couch that had been placed behind him during the teleport. It was smaller than the hotel bed he so fervently wished he was in and now that Kate's fuse had been lit, he only wanted to get both himself and her away from Will's office for a minute at least. The Satan Owl was right....there was business to be discussed, but internally, Che protested vehemently against the man's choice of timing. After lying down, draping his leg over the arm rest and resting his head on the other, he covered his face. His features were now pulled into a stale, blank face...
As Kate had her way verbally with the obviously unaffected Satan Owl, the annoyed Mastering Owl sighed. Part of him wanted to laugh and admit that maybe had he came earlier and managed his time better, this wouldn't have happened. The other, more larger, louder part of him simply wanted to leave, take Kate back to the hotel room and.....there was no need of thinking about it now that the two were in Hell. When Che opened his mouth to speak, he was silenced by Kate who was still fuming with rage. After the door slammed and his heated lover was on the other side, Che waved to the butler and on the whim, he came. "She didn't mean the Noel part...but damn it man. God....damn it. You! Butler guy...give me those ******** pancakes...the bacon too...I need to eat." The last part of the complaint was directed towards the butler who, at this point, should be used to all forms of abuse thanks to Will. "Jesus Christ Bill...what do we need to talk about again? I'm a bit frazzled---No! You keep the crepes! I just want the bacon! Will doesn't pay you to think, he pays you to listen! Get it right!" And from this, if Will hadn't noticed that Che had passive aggressive tendencies, he did now.
(( Actually that "collar" bit was my bad I thought it was gone after the scene in the last big battle I thought it was destroyed lol. ))
Lucien looked over his shoulder at Bailey, raising an eyebrow slightly. "Is there something wrong with this place?" he asked as he looked around, the grundiness didn't seem to phase the Death Owl, despite his usual upscale living conditions. "I suppose, but talking is still talking regardless of the surroundings. One can find comfort in words as easily in the poor house as they can a king's palace." He said as he returned his attention to the doorless frame. Lucien motioned his hand as the few boxes he had lifted floated outside. He dropped them carefully into the snow. He felt the cold chill of the wind hit his skin. He exhaled watching the white fog of his own breathe disperse into the air. His ears perked slightly as Roulin began speaking, the Life Owl who had remained as his eternal rival throughout the years never ceased to suprise him. "You still hold shreds of respect for me? I must not be trying hard enough to piss off the world. Looks like i'm going to have to try harder." He said with a small grin. He hadn't truly expected Roulin to completely hate him, if he did this meeting would have never occured. "My 'plans' aren't quite reaching their peak, there are a few things I must do first, but they'll get there it's the one thing I seem to be good at, getting the job done." As he listened to Roulin recite a few of his more larger treacherous actions he found himself smiling, not a wicked or twisted smile, but a smile of reminiscing he had fond memories of the people in the Night Owls, there was once a time when he would have called them family. "Eventhough our hands aren't yet vicing themselves around eachother's necks we both know it will happen. Life and death are a continuous seam of one another we are just currently the examples. Two childhood friends, brothers in a sense torn apart by deceit and treachory only to find themselves on opposite ends of the same coin. It's poetic in a way. Reminds me of something Shakespeare would have written." He reached into his pocket, pulling out the black flame lighter he had received from Dante, nostalgia and a sense of curiosity had allowed him to keep hold of the device all these years. He flicked it open the soft metal click coming from it as he pressed down on the switch igniting the small black flame. "When we do come to that fight I wonder who will triumph, your strong persistance, or my cunning tact? Whose to say?" He said with a small laugh as he stared into the black flame.
The expression on Aeon's face told Cecilia that the Projection Owl was very much annoyed with her and so called "goody twoshoes" act. The words she spoke only confirmed this. Still, she chose to ignore Aeon's tone and sipped her Raspberry Iced Tea. While stirring her drink with her straw in silence, she glanced up at Aeon and spoke. "It's not that I don't want to...what is it that you say? Lighten up? I don't mind if you have a drink or two. I'm just telling you to be careful. I'm only thinking of Aiden's safety. If you drive drunk with him in the car...well...who knows what could happen. I'm not trying to prevent you from having a little bit of fun in life. Please, just don't overdo it on the margaritas." It had been on the tip of Cecilia's tongue to reveal to Aeon the truth about her own child's stillborn death, but as it stood, Roulin was the only one who knew and she wanted to keep it that way. Besides, talking about the past wouldn't change it one bit.
Bailey stepped out into the cold winter air relieved to be out of the disgraceful hotel. She hoped that it would be taken down, or at the very least condemned. If she didn't contract a deadly disease from it, she would be greatly surprised. The Diclonious Owl listened silently as Roulin and Lucien exchanged words. As she knew nothing of their past she said nothing. But from what she could gather, they had once been best friends, like brothers. No...she could still see a friendship between the two of them, which seemed to make them inseparable despite the fact that they were on opposite sides. The strong icy wind pushed at her struggling to force her back, but it wasn't strong enough to really knock her down, yet it sent her skirt flying up. The blue-eyed Owl struggled to push the skirt back down in order to prevent herself from suffering an embarrassment.
((NPC---Seb)
The glimmering eyes of the butler that stood present in Will’s office revealed that he was rather happy to be here. If not for the great night life and a certain tournament that was supposed to take place this very evening, but for the simplicity that he rather enjoyed seeing people being played with and pissed off with simple words and gestures. Still, the dark haired butler resisted muttering small remarks and comments. That was certainly not his style anyways. “It has been a while since I last served this man…” Sebastian’s gaze was unwavering as he looked towards his bosses’ student. Che was what the man preferred to be called. Which is why Will quite often called him Cheani… Speaking of which…the now quite possibly angry guest was speaking to Seb. “Hmm?” An all too innocent smile graced Sebastian’s lips as he proceeded to serve up breakfast…only to receive complaints of some sort for offering Crepes. “Paid to listen?” Oh dear….
Ah, it was not often that Sebastian was spoken to in such a manner. Despite his well high class training and skill as a butler and the fact that one of the rules was never to speak back…Seb couldn’t help but laugh in a cold way that almost mirrored his laughter when he was hacking up someone. His eyes narrowed with sheer amusement and like a mad man on the hunt for someone to entertain him Sebastian zoomed in towards Che “Oh but I do think…And right now I think it wise that you listen and pay close attention….” He leaned away and left a plate full of bacon and pancakes on the Owls lap “And do try to be more civil…we are all grown-ups here, Cheani~” Had it been someone else who had dared to speak in such a way…Seb would not have hesitated playing one of his games. But, being the good butler that he was, he knew who he could and could not harm and Che was most definitely high up on the ‘no harming’ list... “Might I add…it is good to see you in full health…Enjoy the bacon.”
((Che's UNS - Will))
The devil merely smiled as Kate stormed out of the room. He wasn't one bit intimidated or truly affected by Kate's outbursts and antics. Hatred and anger were emotions that he fed on, and they strengthened him. The Noel comment chipped very very slightly at Will, but only because he had been missing her moments before at the party. Che knew of the possible effect, so he had tried to cover for Kate by saying she didnt mean it. She was just angry after all. Will wasn't an idiot. He could read people like open books, and even if Kate had been previously relatively emotionless, it didn't mean she wasn't readable. She certainly was now.
Will looked at the downcast and confused Che, his smile twisted even more as Che spoke to the butler in that tone and received cold laughter. The Satan Owl gave Sebastian more discretion than other butlers. The dark haired butler was forever loyal to his master, and Will tended to make Sebastian's job interesting for various reasons. Anyhow, Will did know of Che's passive aggressive tendencies. He wasn't concerned with them. Since he was there, he knew everything would turn out fine. "Be a good boy and listen to Sebastian. He won't lead you wrong, Cheani."
The Satan Owl paused for a moment and gestured toward the door. He appeared to be speaking to thin air, but Cheani and Sebastian would know otherwise. "Keres, if you don't mind, do bring some of the food to Katherine. She may not want to eat, but her stomach is growling so loudly the world knows otherwise. Besides, it's no good sitting around all day before the tournament tonight."
Will turned his attention back to Che. "Pull yourself together, Cheani. Don't you remember what I said last time? You're going to hell, and there's nothing you can f***ing do about it." The devil got up and made his way to the sofa across from Che. "You told me you wouldn't sleep until you saw things through. You told me you wanted to go to heaven. Well, you're not." There was that familiar smirk reserved for the devil's student. "Let's get you back on track, shall we?" He leaned back against the sofa and made himself comfortable. "The old saying goes 'together we stand, divided we fall.' We're going to end this war, Cheani. That's what you want. Now, you tell me, what will you do now? I've given you a hint to the puzzle. "
"You know Lucien, it may be that that's keeping us from ripping each others trachea out right now." Roulin replied, noting what Lucien had just said. His plans, just like Roulin's hadn't taken flight yet. For the most part, they were still budding, but stationary in terms of progress. As his deep violet eyes traced the pristine white landscape of New Orleans, the Owl of Life found himself sighing in sheer disappointment. It never snowed in New Orleans. Never. It was always too hot for it, but the climate change brought on by Owls not controlling their sectors anymore was the blame. That, and the balance of Heralds was way off. Turning his attention back to Lucien again, Roulin went on, saying, "Not that we fall prey to the Crab Effect, because the last thing I want to do is to pull you back into this barrel, but I can't let your plan go through. You're an Owl, and I want to see us all thrive. Not spiral out of control because of some...Messianic sense or a foolish goal to become the center of all hatred. Not if there is a better way."
"As usual, it's a fight I look forward to. If not for the sport, then just to beat you down and take those strategic powers of yours." Even Roulin felt that his words to Lucien were more...uncharacteristic than his usual meek tone. Still, the path he'd chosen was slowly molding him, and his father, the one who'd indirectly set him down this path, knew it. Taking out a blank card given to him by his father, he inspected it and continued his internal reflection. Even when he pretended not care about his father's hand in this it was all to obvious at this point that the majority of his choices made as of recently were 'selected' by Che himself. When given the chance, Roulin, the true Owl of Life would take what he needed from his loving father and leave him to die as well. "We're not torn apart at all Lucien. We're both what this world would call diseases. A plague. Animals...curses. It's just as you so aptly put it years ago. Only one of us can live in this world. I doubt it could handle two of us. And Strong Persistence vs. Cunning Tact? I think we should play Chess while we're sitting here thinking of what to do next. I'm hardly the same knucklehead I used to be...I owe thanks for that."
And as it was, Lucien played a part in Roulin's evolution from day one to now. Whereas Lucien's main ability cause him to understand a system after looking at it, Roulin's own adapted ability allowed him to memorize how a cycle worked after seeing it complete a cycle. While his power differed from Lucien, it was still a strain of his rival's power. Unfortunately though, Roulin didn't receive the slitted eyes that he Lucien's power gave. He would never admit it, but he did find them to be somewhat cool. Deeming that the time for pleasantries was all but over, Roulin looked back to the six people in tow with him and said, "Alright! So enough silence from everyone. Who here understands the situation over on the eastern seaboard? Whoever doesn't I'll do my best to elaborate on it in full."
Che had to look onto the butler through narrowed, focused eyes before realizing just who he was. While at first, frustration held the irate Italian in it's grip making sure that his judgement as well as his sight was blinded, after the butler spoke to him, placed the plate in his lap and leaned closer to subliminally reveal his identity, Che found himself silent. The butler was Will's butler from the mansion he'd visited a few months ago. This man was Sebastian, one of the only few people that actually managed disturb the usually calm man. Receiving his plate, the Mastering Owl leaned away from Sebastian when he entered his personal bubble. Of course, for Seb, Che's personal bubble extended for about a few meters. Only if the man was out of sight did Che feel some form of comfort....
"Oh....you again...just---just leave the food and I'll try not to be such a bad guest," retorted Che quiveringly to Sebastian. As Will's number one butler, Che knew not to bother him too much. Only because of the mutual understanding did Che not continue to curse at the man. Besides, he was nice enough to keep his cool through the storm of lamentations, curses and threats. Still, the taller man gave him the chills and Che only wanted him somewhere he couldn't see him....or maybe even that was a bad idea..."Yeah, it's good to see the both of you in good health. I see you've been eating right yourself Seb...you've gotten taller a smidgen..."
"And you. William. Will, Bill, Satan, Lucifer, Son of the Morning. Sometimes, I can't help but wonder..." Now it was their time to speak as Will deemed it. With that 'teleport whoever I want' power granted to the Great Four, it was always his time....and Che knew better than to even try to contest it anymore. Picking up a slice of bacon, the apprehensive Italian studied it carefully, even attempting to note the dimensions of the almost paper thin slice. Seb was a good cook, Che knew, but he remained weary of the ingredients chosen. It was more Will's fault than his though. When Will mentioned Keres being near and going to find Kate, naturally, Che felt some fear pinch his half sleeping state of mind. "Don't hurt her.....just---try to get her to eat alright? She's not coming back, but make sure nothing happens to her here please Keres..." After eating it, Che placed the warm plate on his belly and continued to lay across the couch with his hand tiredly covering his equally tired features.
"Track? Goddamn, are we not already on it? Hmph, anyway...as you've seen Raven is currently pushing her way into Virginia. Washington D.C. specifically. She's doing it with good speed and tactics I might add. In only two and a half months...two and a half months...she's managed to get from New York, up to Maine, then down to Massachusetts. From the looks of it, she'll be in Virginia in maybe...a week or two. Surely, this is just because as she goes along, she picks up more and more Owls, converts them to her cause...blah blah, yadda yadda...." The second strip of bacon that Che had just eaten was savored for as long as it could've been. The taste was bitter, but tangy and smokey as bacon should be. If the Italian even felt like moving, he may have hugged Seb, but only for a second. Uncovering one of his half-opened purple eyes, Che decided to continue but in a drawn out groan. "Thomas got downgraded, but he's still an upperclass Owl! Still, he's stronger than more than eighty-nine percent of all Owls...he's going to be a bother to kill and so will Tim....and so will Rage because they're still ******** Heralds...."
With that explanation of current events out of the way, Che slipped another piece of bacon into his mouth and actually found himself enjoying the culinary work of the abnormally (to Che) tall butler. "Continuing on...where was I? ....Oh yeah......Timothy's lost his mind, Rage is still somewhere breaking s**t. While things may seem out of hand....I do have a card up my sleeve. Right now, I'm just waiting for Lucien to get to Roulin and present to him the request I gave Radiant. When that is set into place...William, there will be nothing else I can do. Even now...at this point Raven is too strong to attack head on, the UNS, the world's greatest defense, is waiting for a reason to use their nukes and blow s**t to kingdom come, Thomas is under said defense and he too isn't going to move until Raven gets her Oracle. When she does, we'll have our window. If we botch that, then it's game over for all of us. If we don't, we still have a shimmer of hope in an otherwise dark ocean of failure. And that's it in a nutshell Bill. What do you think we should do? You too Seb, since you're standing there doing nothing."
((NPC---Keres))
For most of the day Keres had been perched on top of an old antique bookshelf in Will’s office. The doll like girl was not one to venture so far away and to be honest; it was for the best interests of everyone else that she remained out of sight. The white haired female with porcelain like skin did not pay any hint of attention to those who had gathered in the office, she was merely lying down and playing with a brunette wig that had been hand made by Sebastian some time ago and not interested in what the current topic was. Her blank expression twitched lightly when Will spoke her name. Rolling over onto her front, her white empty eyes stared towards her master as she listened to his request. “Food?” She repeated the word like it confused her but Will would know full well she was not confused…in fact she was rather bemused that he had asked such a thing of her.
“I will do as you ask…” The mention of the approaching tournament won over a small smile from Keres who was already crossing the room in order to obtain some delicious food that humans seemed to enjoy. With the help of Sebastian the young looking female had a silver tray ready for Kate and was in the process of leaving the office when Che spoke. She looked over her shoulder with the same empty stare “I won’t hurt her…I am not allowed to…” She smiled almost as though she was trying to back up her words but it more or less had the opposite effect....like a ‘I won’t hurt her unless I get bored’ type of smile. Pointing at the Mastering Owl she suddenly spoke in annoyance or disappointment “Your hair…your hair was better before…” Her small ghost like laugh echoed around the room as she turned away and without a sound, exited the office with the tray of food balanced on one hand.
Keres knew where the girl was and seemed to be in a trance like state of mind as she walked to her destination. She approached the pink haired female as silent as a shadow and placed the tray down on a table. “Food…” She muttered in a soft almost childlike tone. As Keres waited for some sort of response from the one known as Katherine, she took the moment to take in that air or aura that surrounded the woman. The emotions that the female displayed and the ones that she seemed to lack provided a rather delicious mixture. Another thing that Keres found delightful was Kate’s hair…it was simply beautiful in length and colour…and Keres was a sucker for pretty hair….
((NPC---Seb)
It was rather amusing for Sebastian when Che responded in the way that he did. The tall butler smiled as he assisted Keres in collecting food for Kate and even chuckled with Che commented on his height and how he seemed to have gotten taller. “Half an inch…” He said with a small shrug “I suppose it may have something to do with my DNA…” One thing was for sure that Sebastian’s genetic coding would probably always remain a mystery. With a blank gaze the dark haired butler took his usual standing position behind Will and slightly to the left. Keres was apparently expressing her dislike for Che’s new hair style and even attempted to make a promise of some sort but she should have probably left out her creepy smile. “Such a delightful girl..” Seb mused as the office door closed behind Keres. “I am 99% certain that she won’t harm the woman…” And there it was…a small sentence that Seb said just to unsettle Che…or at least toy with him in some small way…
The butler listened as Che began to ramble on about all the things that was currently going on in the world. Raven and her army of Owls, Thomas the one that smelled, Heralds and other madness that was of none of Sebastian’s concern…unless Will made it so. The tall male had no intention of speaking his opinions on the topic at hand but he was rather intrigued when Che actually asked him to give his thoughts. Smiling the butler’s first choice of words was “I wouldn’t know…after all…I am not paid to think…” Still he tapped his chin lightly in a mock thinking manner and grinned before speaking once again. “My first thought is…How will you know when this Raven woman gives her oracle? Are you expecting her to ring you and share the details? Perhaps she will send you a picture…” Sebastian ran a hand through his black hair and continued to smirk like he was enjoying himself…whether he actually was remained unanswered.
“Another thing…I assume you have people who are willing to fight with you in this time of…need…But, they are nowhere to be seen. While I will not mock your own capabilities or those of your lady friend in how you are handling this…I do think more people are needed. And yes, I am stating the obvious…because you seem rather sleepy and I feel the obvious points need to be pointed out for you to understand..” Sebastian shrugged his shoulders and crossed his arms over his chest. “To sum it up. I think you should be more organised. You current state that is suffering due to lack of sleep will not help you out either…Hmm...Perhaps I should prescribe you some sleeping pills….”
((Che's UNS - Will: Haka, is your avatar supposed to be Keres? Kate and her hair........uh oh.))
The smirk on Will's face began to wan as Che spoke, and it disappeared all together by the time Che stopped speaking. He did not make any remarks in response to Sebastian, Che, and Keres's comments about Kate. He didn't even smile as Keres laughed and left the room, and he also made no comment about Che's hair. The aura in the room seemed to darken a bit as Satan leveled his now red eyes at Che once Sebastian finished speaking and Keres took her leave.
"Yadda yadda yadda....." There was a moment of silence. "Cheani, you know Sebastian is correct. Apparently my giving you a hint wasn't enough. He had to lay it out for you. I don't care if you're sleepy. I trained you better than this. So, wake the f**k up and get off of your dreamy lazy a**." The next line Will would have said was left unsaid. It would have been "Don't tell me you're starting to give up. Everything is fine." But Will didn't say it because Che would question him more in some way. "Think about what you said, kid. Think. There's something in there you're not hitting, and if you can't find it then...Sebastian will have to show you the way. You're wasting my time and your time."
After another pause, the Satan Owl added to his words simply for informative purposes. "Hmph. And by the way, you can check your cell phones and bank accounts after you clear your mind." It was more than obvious Che's mentor was not pleased with Che's attitude.
