I made that mistake just yesterday @.@ Well I usually manage to get away with not doing too much damage. I mean I don't use any P2P thing other then uTorrent. I don't download anything that isn't from a site that I trust. I mean I don't even have anti-virus on my main comp and it's been fine for over a year. Lol. You just got to take a little precautions, and make sure that if you're typing sensitive issues like passwords...that the site is the real one and NOT a pisher. Also don't trust anything about getting you money, or sending people money on the internet.

Oh. Emotional damage. ********. I DO have some stories to tell about that. Like my first irl g/f I met from the internet. We had a turbulent relationship, and most of it was me trying to get back those great first few days. I met her at my first AnimeCon. Then eventually...after a week of rarely getting online, and when she did she was a moody b***h, she dumped me!
Then again I've had some rather nasty stuff irl as well. Online is no different, it can just be easier for some to screw over others because it's a little less personal. You don't have to see the real damage, and you don't have to see them irl. So you can just easily ignore them. That's one of the biggest differences really.
