The sound of rolling wheels hummed just outside the door, a small clatter could be heard and then a jostle of movement before Crash finally appeared through the doorway and grinned at everyone he already knew in the class. He decided on a seat in the center of the class, practically in reach of everyone, as he took his notes. It was hard to concentrate, his mind kept wandering to the idle things that shined in the light and stole his attention. But he was interested, really! He even wrote notes, he never used to do that, of course, they all looked like chicken scratch by the left hand of a right-handed baby, but—whatever—
”And what do the guys get when they win?” He added along with Danni’s question.

Now where did I put that wand?Grayson swept into the class, ready to teach. He was actually a bit happier about this class, but still a little disappointed about the fact that they seemed not to be too inerested in history. Ah, well it really wasn't a surprise. Not everyone was excited about the same things that he was. He strode up to the chalkboard and grabbed a piece of chalk. He quickly wrote down the topic of the day and set down the chalk, dusting his hands off."Hello, class. Today we will be discussing the Chamber of Secrets. Now I know that some of you may have already heard about this, so please just bare with me while I bring the ones that haven't up to speed.
"The Chamber of secrets was built over a thousand years ago, around the same time that Salazar Slytherin left the school. There was speculation about the chamber for centuries, but no one could really even pinpoint how Slytherin could have created such a place to begin with, let alone what the Chamber was to be used for. However, that all changed back in the first half of the twentieth century.
"The chamber was opened, releasing a monster that only an heir to Slytherin could control. Since Salazar Slytherin was a Parselmouth, the creature was a snake. A basilisk, to be precise. The chamber had been opened by a then-unknown prefect by the name of Tom Riddle, and its purpose was insidious. That was to kill every one who didn't belong in Hogwarts. Namely muggle-born witches and wizards.
"Eventually the attacks stopped, as someone was apprehended for the crimes. However that was not the end for the history for the Chamber itself. In 1992, the chamber was opened again, this time by a fragment of Tom Riddle's soul. The attacks resumed, and it wasn't until the actions of Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley that the attacks stopped." He looked about the class. "Now I know that some of you may have questions, so don't hesitate to ask. I would be happy to answer them to the best of my ability." ---------------------------------- Location: History of Magic Classroom State: Teaching OOC: Sorry I'm late in updating this! Have you heard the news? Bad things come in twos. But I never knew 'Bout the little things. Every single day Things get in my way. Someone has to pay For the little things.
Uriel Adair Scott - Muggleborn - First Year - Hufflepuff - [feeling: focused] [thinking: I should take notes...] [with: First Years] [at: History of Magic] Uriel was particularly interested in this subject. After all, if the basilisk was still around he might be dead right now. He was a muggleborn wizard, though he hadn't been raised as one. The Hufflepuff raised his hand. "How was the basilisk stopped?" he asked curiously. Really, how did you kill a giant snake?
It all comes down to you. Let the headlines wait, Armies hesitate. I can deal with fate But not the little things. Armageddon may Arrive any day. I can't get away From the little things.

Bonnie Tybalt// Single// First Year// Half-blood// ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bonnie listened with great interest and slight fear about the chamber of secrets. How something so evil could be locked up within this institution was beyond her. One thing didn't make sense to her though, so she cautiously raised her hand and asked. She knew that most of the kids knew this answer, but she was still learning about the wizarding world. "Sir? How could a fragment of a soul do that? How did Tom Riddle accomplish that?" She asked with a curious upturn in her voice that shadowed an anxiousness about people's reaction to her question. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hurriedly, he scribbled down his notes, clumsily spilling some of the ink out of his inkwell and tried to dab it all up with roll after roll of parchment to try and keep the desk from staining. The questions that bounced all around the room were rather interesting, to say the least, and his curious little mind couldn’t help but stop taking notes to listen. Well, not that he was going to finish his notes, anyway, but-! That’s not what really mattered. His dark eyes glinted as he targeted the Hufflepuff girl that spoke up, her question, by far, was the most interesting. What was her name, anyway? Agnar walked up to the door. It was his first day teaching. Apparently the school needed an emergency teacher. Something about the current professor being indisposed. He of course noticed the notice and took out his wand. A quick tap incinerated the note, and he watched dispassionately as it fell to the floor. He smirked. Well, this was a good start.
Opening up the classroom, he entered and took stock of what he had. Plenty of books, tomes, and assorted historical paraphernalia littered the room. He was advised not to touch the layout, so the new professor set about working on the board. When he finished, he straightened up the room before standing in front of the classroom. The room seemed darker, more sinister, and he preferred it that way. He waited for students to enter as he flipped idly through the class syllabus and cocked an eyebrow. Well, he had to teach as the school stated, but that didn't mean he was going to be easy on the students.Professor Bjelke Professor Agnar Bjelke
Lesson I: History of Hogwarts "Hello class, and welcome to class. I am Professor Agnar Bjelke, and you shall refer to me as professor or sir. I do not tolerate laziness, rudeness, or ignorance. If you do not know an answer, stay quiet and let those more intelligent than yourself speak. Now, before we begin lessons, I will state this much. Interrupt me, and you shall end up in detention. Do I make myself clear?" He glared around the room, daring anyone to speak up before he launched into his lecture."Today, we're going to go over the history of Hogwarts. The school was founded in the ninth to tenth century by its founders, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. They came together to build the school due to increased suspicion of muggles and magic, and wanted to teach students without fear of prosecution. However, not all of them agreed on which students should be accepted into the school. Salazar Slytherin wanted to only admit purebloods, which was at odds with the other founders. He left the school, and never returned.
"Hogwarts was one of the finest institutes for magical learning by the thirteenth century, and together with Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, started the Triwizard Tournament. However, due to injuries and deaths resulting from the tournament, it was disbanded six centuries after it started. There have been many attempts to reinstate it, but none have been successful.
"More recently, the school has been the site for many different incidents in the last century. It was here that Voldemort learned his magic, and here that Harry Potter defeated him in the Battle for Hogwarts. It has also been the site for the most recent attempt for the Triwizard Tournament, and obviously remains a major school for magic today."He glared around, daring the students to say anything. He hated children, and this lot he doubted would be any better than vermin to him. "Now, you shall all have homework. I wish for an essay, ten inches in length, on one of the founders. Failure to turn it in will result in detention."-----------------♛----------------- Location: History of Magic classroom State: Hard OOC: For the homework, you can claim you wrote it up, or you can type up a short response. *~Victor Beausoleil~* Victor Beausoleil had heard that the History of Magic class was now open, though he had heard rumors the new professor was a bit off. He had no idea what they meant though, if the professor was teaching, they had to have a good attitude, right?
He then took his seat as the professor introduced himself, yes he did seem quite harsh. Maybe it was to drill in the facts they had to learn?
Victor then gulped at the mention of detention, he hoped he wouldn't have to go there.
He then perked up at the mention of the four founders of Hogwarts, he had read up on them, but didn't really understand much. Though he felt he had an obligation to learn of Helga Hufflepuff. He then tilted his head at the mention of deaths and a person called Voldemort, he had heard...rumors of him, but never got what he was...or who this Harry Potter was. This only meant he would have a hard night of study.
As Victor write down the homework he had to do he nodded as he wrote Helga Hufflepuff at the top to remind himself. Afterwards he turned in what he had studied earlier, though he hoped it was enough to earn a pass.
'Helga Hufflepuff was one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Helga had helped to build the school and admitted students into her House that were loyal, fair, and unafraid of hard work. While the other founders took students based on either ambition, bravery, or intelligence, Helga Hufflepuff took the rest, treating them all equally and teaching them all she knew. Helga was an egalitarian, or one who held belief in all people.
Helga also arranged for the house-elf contingent to work in the kitchens, giving them somewhere safe to work where they would not be mistreated or abused.

𝒩𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝒥𝑜𝑦 𝒪'𝐹𝑒𝓀𝑟𝑒𝓀𝑦 `•.¸¸.••´´¯``•• .¸¸.•´ First Year ~ Hufflepuff ~ Single ~ Muggleborn Location: History of Magic With: First YearsNessa stepped quietly into the History of Magic class that had just recently been opened, taking a look around and finding her seat timidly. The atmosphere in this room was so dark and creepy... and she couldn't even begin to describe the man standing at the front. Was he going to be their Professor? And if he was a substitute, then what had happened to their old professor? After all, the class was starting a week later than all the others had. As the man began to speak, she felt a chill run up her bones. This guy was scary... Scarier than their Flying professor, for sure. Taking out her notebook silently, she took her notes wordlessly as he gave the lecture on the founding of Hogwarts. Despite the teacher's general unpleasantness, the subject material was actually pretty interesting. As he told them what their homework for the week would be, she started thinking about which of the four House founders she would like to write about. Helga Hufflepuff, since that was the house she was in? Or maybe one of the others would be better.. After all, she was sure that Rowena Ravenclaw and Godric Gryffindor were just as interesting.
