Viva snarls then he grins. "Do your worst."

Viva smiles as he plays right into his hand. Viva using his abiltiy to affect a objects movement redirects the bullets right towards Ansem.

Viva blinks and stops the bullets. He glances at the device but is not quite ready to risk a retreat. He returns his attention to Ansem. He uses his mental abilites again and starts to strangle Ansem.

Allen had several things in his favor. He had two very large black wings that were already damaged and could take the brunt of the explosion without hindering him. He had a mildly masochistic mindset.
And he didn't know how to die.
So it should not have been of great surprise when, after a few moments spent adjusting to the new noval flare of pain, and a few more in contemplation of Ansem's back (and faintly wishing for his sword), the Destroyer made a second, more calculated lunge, springing lightly to the younger-though-apparently-older male's back, right arm snaking around the wiry neck in a vice grip, his left hand snagging one of the Chains of Binding, his right knee digging into the small of the taller man's back. Even with Ansem's knack for yanking the Destroyer's chain, he would find dislodging the now-fairly-wingless fellow harder now than it had been before. (Fairly wingless, because about all that was left after the light-explosion were the tufts of feathers at his back, and the gracefull, morbid arches of bone that somehow stayed together without, apparently, anything to force them too. If one bothered to look, they could see where the little misunderstanding with the wall had left one badly damaged.)

Viva quickly dispells the affect and attacks again at Ansem's mind.

The Destroyer fell several feet to land in a crouch on the smooth stone floor, red eyes glaring faintly at Ansem, but honestly more irritated by Viva. Ansem was, at the least, entertaining. Something to keep him occupied in ways books never had. The Library was dull, but it was well enough compared to what he could have been doing, which was nothing. This fight, however, was something else entirely.
For one, Allen hadn't ever felt pain before, for two, he was finding it rather enjoyable, and for three...
There was just something about attacking your boss that just beat all, even your boss was the one beating you.

All the while Rowen had been reading a nifty little volume containing various Ray Bradbury stories, including but not limited to 'Something Wicked This Way Comes', and the strangely fitting 'Come Into My Basement'.

Hearing some clammor, the young man blinked and looked up-- he had managed to wander out of the lobby (with his nose buried in books, of course) and was now peering down at Allen over the edge of his book. Without glancing at Ansem, the young man spoke simply, knowing the answer before opening his mouth. "Want some help?"

The bone spires that had, just recently, been wings, clicked when he shifted to glare up at the blue-haired youth, one word summing up his thoughts on the man's offer: idiot.
"Idiot."
He turned immediately back to Ansem, weight shifting impatiently. Yes, it was true that the Destroyer was just as stupid in his persistence in fighting Ansem as Rowen was in offering assistance, but it was also true that he wouldn't be suffering any long-term effects.
Except, maybe, a continued unhealthy interest in pain.

"Jus' ask'n." The young man then turned back to his book, leaning casually against a nearby book case. There was a fellow who appeared to be dead not too far from them, but Rowen wasn't too worried- the limit on 'revivifying' was three days last time he checked (though it wasn't always easy by then) and the young man assumed this scuffle would end before then. Besides, he was still recouperating from the last healing, and he was never one to randomly jump into fights anyway. They tended to randomly jump at him more often then not.

There would be two fellows who were apparently dead if Allen resumed his course of stupidity (which he would). Whose corpse the second was would be decided by Chance's weighted die.
Having spent a moment in careful thought, the Destroyer rose and stepped silently over to Ansem, reaching up some ways to tap him politely on the shoulder. A spectator might have suspected the once-winged-one of gliding, but he having only the bony appendages of broken wings, that seemed highly unlikely. The spectator would also, likely note that when Ansem turned, if he did, the fool-hardy Harbringer (who was fortunately very hardy) kicked him very hard in the shin, in what would seem a childish kind of attack. It would have been much more like him to just punch the extremely tall Blind Seer in the chin.
