P_Tama Do you know any Gaelic, Tenchi? That's a good question! I think we should have Tenchi speak some Gaelic in a video.

Well I think some people do over there, like some of the older folk...but yeah. It's not really well used. Just like some people in Quebec may speak French French...but most of them just speak their Quebec French.

If you are in Northern Ireland, then no, they do not speak Gaelic. But my mum was in Ireland a few years back and a few small towns by Cork and such do speak mainly Gaelic. Perhaps it is dying, but in some communities its thriving. Actually, the reason I know some is because there is a small group of Irish folk that came here like 10 years ago and they get together and do Gaelic lessons at the library and tell stories in Gaelic. It's really cool.

Ok 95% of irish folk use english as their native tongue, Gaelic is used by the miniority hence it is legally considered dead. Gaelic will never becom the domininate tongue in ireland ever again. In the norther of ireland only catholics are taught it, and 1005 of all children once they leave high school never use gaelic againits usually the oap that use it and that is a rareity, just because you have ppl that teach it and a small group that speak it to the world and even the countries own goverment the tongue was was Gaelic is dead
So ill be damed if i let you two tell me how my own ******** country works

Tenchi you said it yourself: LEGALLY dead. The very fact that you say CHILDREN ARE TAUGHT THAT LANGUAGE means that it is NOT ACTUALLY DEAD. Just because my Mom has a Death Certificate doesn't mean she is dead, as she is very much alive right now. There's some languages that NOBODY really speaks anymore or really uses, outside of certain academic stuff. sweatdrop
