"Something's wrong with Zero." said Rahvine tugging the doctor toward Zero's bed. "I'm not sure what..." Rahvine looked over at DKiryu.

DKiryu tried to think of something.
"Come on you sonofaB*tch! You promised! Don't you dare break it!"

Zero and Dkiryu looked at the huge craters they made in the plains.
"You're not to shabby Dkiryu. How'd you like to be a reaper."
Dkiryu shook his head.
"Nah...I only have protection on my mind." He answered.
"I know what you mean."
Both looked at the sky.
"I've got Aura to look after. And you have Rahvine right?"
Dkiryu laughed.
"Yea...right..."
Zero punched him in the side of his arm.
"Come on. You look at me and you tell me you don't have something for her!"
Both laughed.
"I guess we're the same eh?" DKiryu asked.
Zero smiled. "I guess. We're both trying to protect people we care for."
DKiryu nodded.
"Yea...even if they don't care for us in return...Hay Z. How about we take an oath?"
"A what? Why?"
"That way we'll fullfill it no matter what. It'll be like our ultimate competition."
"Alright...you're on. What is it."
"We'll never die unless it's in the protection of our friends. How's that?"
Zero laughed.
"Sure...why not."
"Promise?" Dkiryu reached with his fist.
Zero laughed and hit it with his own.
"That's a promise."

Rahvine moved to stand next to DKiryu and rested a hand on his arm. This isn't good. I don't understand what happened...DKiryu said Zero is human...

Dkiryu showed her the knife Zero gave him.
"This knife...it's an aura eater. It glows when a strong aura is present. And with Zero's infinate power it should always glow...but when Zero has no aura..."
The knife was dull, cracked in the blade and the skull on the hilt looked badly broken.

Dkiryu left the room and sat in the nearest chair he coud find.
He stared at the knife.

"I see..." murmered Rahvine looking at the knife. Is this because I killed him?...but Aura said that Zero was coming back...

Rahvine sighed as DKiryu left the room. He's really worried...not that I'm not but... I guess those two kind of bonded or something... Rahvine went to stand near the doorway as she watched the doctors work, glancing out at DKiryu.

Dkiyru watched as the doctors walked out of the room, some with a relived look on their face.
Dkiryu walked into the room.
The "Beep.....beep....beep....beep...beep..." of the IV unit choed that for the first time in over a thousand years, Zero had a pulse. Zero looked at Dkiryu.
"I told ya...That's a promise." She gasped out.
DKiryu laughed.
"You almost cheated." then both laughed.
