Interesting thesis. I think it's because I'm used to translating into French and Japanese is alot harder for me, so my mind automatically reverts to what it knows.

No, my theory is better; it gives French a prépondérance (as in, it's better!)

I post some of what I have, see if you understand any of it o_O:

Au travers de ses rafales et de ses étendues de neige et de glace, je grandis dans l’incertitude. L’incertitude d’un lendemain que les autres semblaient prendre pour acquis, d’un amour qu’ils semblaient tous partager sous le sceau d’un impénétrable secret, d’un soleil nouveau qui se lèverait pour eux. Elle se penche vers l’avant, vers la foule et leur confit, avec un triste sourire : Mais pas pour moi.
Elle se relève et avance vers l’avant-scène d’un pas délibérément lent, comme déséquilibrée, en récitant : Plongée dans les profondeurs d’une épaisse et noire nuit, je retenais mon souffle, à la recherche de… Elle perd l’équilibre et veut se cramponner à quelqu’un lorsqu’elle réalise qu’elle est seule, s’arrêtant dans sa chute. Elle tâte d’un air absent l’endroit où se trouverait l’épaule d’un autre, puis glisse vers l’emplacement d’une main : À la recherche d’une main… d’une bouche, d’un cou où déposer baisers, d’une oreille où glisser secrets, d’une épaule où je puisse reposer la mienne, si lasse, si endolorie. Je me languissais de chaleur humaine, croulant sous le poids de mon mal de vivre, me desséchais de ne pouvoir m’abreuver à la source d’une âme étrangère, de créer du moi avec les autres ...

EDIT: retarded people just can't come up with a creative comeback Tana so instead they pick on things that can't be changed. Be the bigger person and don't beat them up, but come up with a fantastic and horribly humiliating and demoralizing comeback of your own.

It's a disgusting word directed towards Italians who, in the times of colonizing and modernizing America, were the lowest of the low, with only the Irish treated worse and hated more.

It is actually the equal to the dreaded "n" word, but it went out of common practice. Though it is still fluttering around everyday. It holds great insult to me.

Eka just called me stupid (Cause I don't like the word retarded). *sigh*

That's not what I meant Tana *gluggles as reparation* What I meant is that people resort to stereotypes and slangs like that simply because they can't come up with anything better to say. So smush it in their face. Challenge them to a game of scrabble, loser buys the next round.

I couldn't understand a single syllable. Dx Though I didn't take enough time to try to thoroughly read it. I doubt any of it would make sense to me.

Everything I read, even the English we type on Gaia is instantly translated to Italian, cause you guys talked about it earlier.
