Shinji never really learns to help himself. Maybe in the end he learned to live for himself, but the prospects are pretty bleak by then.

When Misato is crying hysterically and he just rolls over that's kinda when I started to hate his character... even I have enough spine to comfort someone and ask if they're okay. He just seems too weak to be believable.

I couldn't live with myself if I were like that.

I feel bad for the dud, to have his bubble break at such an age.
Most people bubbles break when they are in elementary or junior high, a few high functioners break at the beginning of college oh well you have to learn somehow i suppose.
