The first person stuff didn't take me out of it, if anything it pulled me in. To have to stop and focus.

So I went to Great Adventure today for a field trip. It was pretty cool.

Anyway, I'm sorry that I kinda just jabbed into you at first, Devon. I'm just miffed by so much of the baseless hate I see directed towards Other M, but it's not right for me to redirect that at you just because you didn't like it.

Other M looks like it'd be a blast to play since the gameplay really looks fun. As for the story... well I can see what they were trying to do in regards to showing how much of a shock anyone can get from losing things they were really close to along with giving Samus some more character, but I feel that they could have spreaded that emotion out a little more or just tone it down a bit :/. Either way, I could totally see myself getting it.

I bought Other M and played a good chunk into it. It's a pretty good game, a nice new light for Samus. I liked the handhelds more than the console games, and this has a nice balance between the two. The story hasn't drawn me in though. I play it out of boredom rather than for the story or since it's such a good game. I do like it and all, it just hasn't hooked me in.

Nah dude, it's fine. Bottom line I do like Other M, I just feel like when they were making it, they were pulling in 2 directions. With some focus, it could have been better, I think.

ive still yet to play other M, but its hard to want to with all the negative i hear about it from friends that have played it that i know are metroid fans, people i know enjoy a good speed run of super metroid and finding out how to get things before you should normally get them or skipping other things etc.

I haven't played Other M, and between the amount of stuff on my backlog and what I've heard about the game, I'm not especially worried about changing this.
I do need to play some of the other Metroid games, though. Especially the Prime games, considering I have all three. sweatdrop

Other M is worth it's going price and then some. And that going price is currently 20 dollars.
It's not like, "Game of the year" but it's worth playing, and for fans of the metroid series, it probably shouldn't be passed up.
