Blind Blindness
I don't know if it's because I'm not in school exercising my brain, or if I'm really stressed, but I'm forgetting things about five seconds after they happen. I can't even remember things I repeat to myself over and over. I need a slap in the face.

I'm a little late to this.
I haven't been by this thread in a while, I mostly trawl the other threads in the main. ^^;
But, easy things to do to give your brain a little kick in the rump, just pick up a magazine or book or comic or whatever and read a little everyday.
Do a crossword or sudoku puzzle or something comparable.
Read the billboards when you're in the car and try to remember them after the trip (this is a good one to do~).
If you have some friends sitting around bored, you could play an impromptu game of pictionary/guess my thing. Drawing from memory is actually a GREAT little brain exercise.
In other news, Spazzy will have glasses tomorrow~
So excited!! I'll be able to see well again~ cat_whee
I also have plans to dye my hair a blue/teal color soon. (Manic Panic's Voodoo Blue, if anyone is interested in specifics. ^^; )

-gasps- YOU use Manic Panic TOO!? emotion_jawdrop
I used to use it but it washes out of my hair too easy emotion_8c
I use contacts. Sometimes my eyes are purple because I have purple contacts emotion_c8

That I do~
To solve the wash-out problem, use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner (I currently use the in-house Sally's brand, Ion. It also happens to be vegan-friendly. My bestie swears by a brand called Organix, which she gets at Wal-Mart. I've also used Nature's Gate, which is carried in Kroger stores where I live.) and if you have some dye left over in the end (I almost always do), mix it in with your conditioner to refresh the color every time you shower. cat_wink
If you want something more permanent, though, my bestie suggests a brand called Pravana Chroma Silk; it's a DEMI-permanent as opposed to SEMI-permanent, so it's formulated to last longer. She also says the Amplified Manic Panic dyes last longer, though the colors I like are never available in Amplified formula (AND my nearest Sally Beauty Supply only carries the regular formula).
I could talk hair dye and nail polish all ******** day. >>;
ANYway.
I can't afford the monetary dedication contacts would require. ^^;
Glasses are just easier to me. XD

Omg I need a certain kind of shampoo and conditioner? THANK YOU SPAZZY!
User Image
And I had no idea I should mix it. The thing is, I dye streaks in my hair, not my entire head. Though people would say I would look cool as a red head...
And I go to Sally all the time for hair dye. My little sister, little brother and I all have dyed hair.
(My little brother has a mowhawk and he dyes the tips hot pink, it's so cute 3nodding )
As far as contacts go, you get used to them really fast and they don't require as much work as I think you think they need; you get them and they come in little boxes in small, individual packs. They don't even need to be refrigerated, just don't keep them in a bathroom where you take hot baths or showers.
In the morning, you just need to put in the contacts and change the contact fluid in the holder and POOF! You're done! yum_cupcake

The sulfate-free shampoo is a tip on the dye jar, I think, but shampoos with sulfates are hard on your hair, dye or no.
And if you ever have need of making a dye fade/wash out, the cheaper the shampoo, the more dye it'll take off. My bestie and I have performed experiments to prove this (she used the Rockabilly Blue dye against my advice and it bled out REALLY bad, she turned her pillowcase blue for a week, and had need of washing out a good deal of dye, thus, shampoo trial).
The conditioner tip is something I've learned from others that love dying their hair. I do know it works, though. I dyed my hair with Red Passion, I think it was (it's a slightly pink red; it was either red passion or the color was retired because that's the closest color on the site ^^; ), and when I stopped mixing the dye with my conditioner, it turned orangey-pinkish the very next wash.
On that note, reds are notorious for fading out VERY quickly, even natural reds, so just take note of that. (I've dyed my hair red more than once, so I know this to be fact as well. In general, by the time you'd usually have roots showing, the red will have faded enough that you won't have to worry over two-toned hair.) Reds are also finicky over the water they like. I have city water, and the dye didn't seem to like that much. I hope you don't use box dyes, I've never had them turn out well, especially not red ones (I've had bad experiences with boxed blacks, too... my beau used a boxed black once, a permanent dye, and it WASHED OUT; we were mega upset, I had to dye his hair again (this time with dye and developer from Sally's, which stuck around until I cut the black out of his hair XD) because it was for a cosplay). Sally's is my savior. I even have the beauty club card because I buy stuff there so much. ^^;
There's still a big monetary commitment to contacts; glasses, I pay once and I'm done until I need a new lens prescription. I also have a phobia of things touching my eyes... I could probably never work up enough courage to even put them in unless it was for a cosplay or something. >>;
I, uh, should probably apologize for rambling so much. Whoops? Hehe... cat_sweatdrop

I love to rant it's no problem! It's rare to find people who know this much about hair dye really.
I really, really wish that there was a permanent rainbow hair dye out there, not just natural colors like blonds, brunets, and red and black.
I usually have red streaks in my hair. I find the most vibrant, brightest red I can find. If not, it's the most shocking, brilliant hot pink I can get my hands on. I adore purple, but having brown hair, it blends in TToTT
I never buy box dye except for once. I bought Splat, or Splash, whatever the hell it was, because one of my friends, who's hair looks like a literal rainbow vomited on it, told me to use it. It washed out in once use. NEVER BUY IT! emotion_donotwant
I swear, the people on the box just wear wigs...
And permanent dye washing out so fast? I've never heard of that!
And yah, a lot of people get creeped out by poking their eyeballs.
Lol, dye hard cat_rofl

I know a lot of random facts.
Such as all hair styling products cause dyes to fade.
I amass tidbits of knowledge like they're rare gems.
My bestie usually has her hair purple. She bleaches her hair before applying color, though (as do I).
I have to be ultra mega careful with what dyes and developers and such I use in my hair because my hair is baby fine and VERY finicky, thus it's easily damaged. So I try to only dye it once every six months or more. (it's been nearly a year since I had my red hair)
The people on the boxes DO wear wigs, by the by. Dye box advertising is as staged as food advertising. (unfortunately... )
I've heard of Splat, they sell it at Wal-Mart. As far as I know from my friends, the actual dye in it sucks, but the bleach works fair well.
I'd never heard of permanent dye washing out or fading so quickly, either, but my beau just HAD to be the one to give me physical proof of that. It wasn't even a CHEAP box dye, either. It was a Feria by L'Oreal dye. Those are sodding expensive... My only guess, in the end, was that his hair was too thick and the developer too weak to bond the dye to his hair. So I got a stronger developer when I bought dye for him at Sally's, which did the trick.
It less creeps me out as it is I'm insanely paranoid about doing something wrong/something going wrong and damaging my eyes. Loss of vision is a terrifying thought to me.
And I stole the term dye hard from Manic Panic. That's how they refer to people who love their products. I love puns, so of course I love that term. cat_razz

I only get my hair dyed because my sister has too much leftover from when she gets hers done at home. That means I flare up in the sunlight on windy days and my friends immediately tell me to calm the hell down 'cuz it's like a sign of me raging. ]:

And I use contacts. They're dailies. I've had plenty of times where my contact gets dry enough in my eye to flip out and be a pain in the a** by popping out. And folded in half. And since I've been wearing them since around 2005, my worst experience with them since 8th grade was when I was actually still in 8th grade. Contact split while I was taking it out and I had a piece that I had to fish around for. Took probably 3 minutes while I was on bathroom break in the middle of class, and my teacher was kinda annoyed at me for taking kinda long.

And yah I need contacts because I have some weird medical condition where I can't wear anything on my head except a light hat that doesn't sit on my ears (I need something like a hat with ear warmers or a fedora) and I can't wear glasses or hanging earrings of any weight or glasses, because I get really bad headaches.

My hair is weird and doesn't take dyes very well, despite that it isn't really very dark (a kind of auburn-y color, I think? I haven't had my hair its natural color in a loooong time >>; ). Genetically speaking, I SHOULD have dark hair since every other person in my family does, but I got to be the odd one out and end up with a bit of a red tint. I'm also the only person in my family that inherited enough Irish genetics to guarantee I'll always be a pasty little white girl. No tans here, only horrid lobster burns if I dare to take off my jacket for long in the daylight. Not that that is really bad, I like being pale and dislike the sun, anyway. cat_xd
I understand the headaches thing. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer, myself, and I have some of the strangest triggers. I even had to cut off most of my hair because, despite it being fine, it still weighed enough to put my head in a constant state of misery.
In the long run, even though these glasses may give me headaches, I just can't afford contacts, so I'll just have to put on my big girl panties and deal with it. Hopefully they'll help enough with my eye strain-related migraines to be worth any suffering they may cause.
I sound like a whiny little b***h, I'm sorry... .__.

I love puns, so of course I love that term. cat_razz

Lol yah I am 50% Italian and I CANNOT TAN TO SAVE MY LIFE! I am white as a ghost! The only upside is I can go out in the sun for 6 hours with no sunblock on and not burn.
And if my hair is the problem for my headaches, I don't care, I am KEEPING IT! MY HAIR! emotion_donotwant
And my headaches in 6th and 7th grade were eye strain, now they're stress.
And you don't sound whiny at all -huggles-

Luckyyyy. I burn mega easily. I also get sun sick and sunlight triggers migraines for me. So I really don't go outside in the light of day, like, at all. Not even to swim in the summer. I'm lucky my beau's parents have their own pool so I can go swimming at night and not have to worry over it.
I had to get a bunch of damage cut out of my hair, so it wasn't really a terribly thing for me. My hair is growing faster now, anyway, and I have a super cute style! emotion_yatta (Is like this. Ramona Flowers~ emotion_kirakira Still miss my long hair, though.)
My headaches are caused, quite literally, by just about anything and everything. Certain sound frequencies, certain repetitive sounds (like box fans or an off-balance ceiling fan), staring at any kind of electronic screen too long (I will never have an eReader.), being around people (social anxiety rocks), all matter of things.
They're pretty much impossible for me to manage, which means I've taken enough pain killers in my short twenty-one years of life to have quite probably permanently thinned my blood. Which is a tad inconvenient when coupled with anemia. But at least my blood is a pretty color! 8D
I like youuuuu. emotion_kirakira *huggles back*
