Dear Noone In Particular,

I should really try wood turning some time.

I like watching the semi-dry clay fly off in ribbons, as the crude shape I threw becomes more refined.

Today I also made my first attempt at fluting around the base of a casserole dish. It's a little rough and uneven, but depending on my glaze choice, it may not be very noticeable. I messed up the lip at some point, though, but that I can still fix... Tuesday morning, when I make the lid.

To whomever it may concern:
Fluted: like this bowl, but at the base of a circular casserole dish instead of the top of a bowl, and half way up the wall of the dish, there's another thinner line of diagonal carvings cut into a sunken and then raised ring made in the surface.

Hard to describe, probably harder to visualize. Don't strain yourself, it's not that pretty... Yet.

I'm researching a kind of glaze that I think turns out like a matte shino glaze. It'll look really nice over a brick red claybody, I think.

I'll bake the ******** out of some casseroles this winter.

They're expensive, but I got a Logitech controller for Super Meat Boy for pretty cheap that worked good.
