IT'S BASICALLY NORMAL CAPTURE THE FLAG, WHERE YOU HOLD THE INTEL UNTIL THE TIMER RUNS OUT. THE CATCH IS THAT, FOR 3 MINUTES BEFORE EVERY ROUND, YOU GET TO DROP PHYSICS RESISTANT PROPS TO BUILD A FORT OUT OF. THERE'S A LIMIT PER TEAM, AND A LIMIT PER PERSON, BUT IN THE LAST MINUTE OF BUILDING, THE PERSONAL LIMIT IS LIFTED. PROPS HAVE HITPOINTS, AND SOME, LIKE THE REINFORCEMENT, ARE QUITE RESILIENT. LOTS OF THINGS, LIKE FAST NEARLY VERTICAL STAIRS MADE OF SHIPPING PALLETS AND DEMO RAMPS MADE OF SUPPORT WALLS OR REINFORCEMENTS(WHICH DEMO MEN CAN LAUNCH THEMSELVES RIDICULOUS DISTANCES OVER) CAN BE MADE BY EXPLOITING LITTLE THINGS ABOUT SOURCE. IT KINDA MAKES BEING DEMOMAN EVEN BETTER. ALSO SMART ENGINEERS CAN BUILD THEIR UPGRADED SENTRY GUNS TO CLIP THROUGH PROP WALLS, PROTECTING THE MAIN BODY OF THEIR GUN ATLEAST FOR A SHORT TIME LONGER.
I'm probably weird for liking something that makes the game more complicated, but it's something I haven't gotten super bored of yet. There are a few maps that are total garbage, and aatleast one that is a regular intel match with a broken timer.(So you play to 5, which can take like a half hour, on average.) I play on Azelphur's fortwars servers. I'm not super fond of the modifications on other severs. The userbase is rarely the same, though, and often people just suck, and you spend the entire beginning of a round breaking through some jackass's poorly conceived fortifications.
