I have never played FFXI but the music is soo good. Have you? I looked at it on Steam and apparently you have to pay monthly? Pfft

I honestly don't recomend it.
I typically hate MMORPGs, though.
I spent way too much time just using it as an escape.
It has a nice world, but the graphics are aged by today's standards, and kinda muddy sometimes.
the music is nice, probably was one of my favorite parts. My favorite was just escaping, though. I wasn't very good at the actual game. The actual game sucks and requires copious grinding. There is no part of the game that is smooth, and nothing really rewarding comes of grinding. Just more areas to grind in. Only eer 1 or 2 anyone at any level range does, and 1 is always the clear best. So you will spend forever there until endgame.

yeah my friends tried to get me to get into FFXI, i absolutly refused due to this reason.
no MMO in our group lasts more than 5 months and everyone gets bored with it.
up until cataclysm for WoW, lich king raids in WoW kept my attention.
MMO i play now?
Dungeon and Dragons: Ebberon Online.
the dungeon system may be simple, but theres no better character customization that turbines DDO, wanna be every class? GO FOR IT! will it be great? doubt it. but still your not limited to just 2 classes or 1 type of role you can play, you could go sorcerer cleric and rape things with fire and heal others wounds at the same time, no class change required.
or go barbarian rogue, sneak attack didn't work out? RAGE AND SMASH THEM!
oh and you can still go purley into one class to be very powerful at what you do, for the first 3-4 levels i' recommend it.
