wow. sounds like my dad being a d**k. its not in the obvious manner more in the saying the right thing to 1. make me feel worthless 2. make what he said infallible any attempt to rectify whatever you did makes him madder. and 3. continue to cause me to do what is really the real reason hes a d**k to me.

My mom's awesome. My dad's an a*****e so we don't live with him anymore. cat_3nodding

My dad is just a man-child. When he's emotionally abusive it is due to that, and frankly that's not so stressful at this point. But my mom is more inconsistently abusive, and that makes it more distressing.

I can't think of a better word than abusive, but I'm pretty sure there is one. There must be a nice concise word that wraps up the factors nicely.
