Elizabeth finally removed herself off the window sill. She placed her feet on the cool floor and then she turned and shut the window. She rubbed the back of her neck with her hand as she walked over to the discarded book. It was laid open on the floor, words staring at her. She picked the book up and looked at the page. A sentence caught her attention. 'True love hides in the most unlikely places imaginable. And when it is found, it shows itself hard and true.' The sentence brought relization to her. She really had fallen for Theo, even though she had been telling herself otherwise. She sighed heavly and shut the book before placing it back on the stack of books. She then walked out of her doorless room and began to Theo's. When she got there she found the door open and no Theo. She looked around the room one more time before she left and headed down the corridor and stairs. She, thinkfully had remembered how to get to the painting. For some reason she had this pulling urge to look at it. She made her way through the many halls, making her way to the painting.

Theo stared up at the painting of his family. His mother hadn't changed a bit, except for her taste in clothing. His father looked exactly the same as the last time he'd seen him. He stared up at this father's face, feeling his throat constrict with grief. He took a deep breath, not caring about the single tear that escaped from the corner of his eye and traced a trail down his face. This was the only time he let his guard down: When he was alone.

Elizabeth reached the last hall and she began to turn, but then she spotted him. It was Theo. She sighed in her head and closed her eyes for a moment then opened them and looked back at Theo. She couldn't decide to either leave or stay. Soon he would smell her and she would be known. So she decided to stay, but she didn't come any closer. She slid down the wall and sat down silently, her legs pulled up to her chest with her arms wrapped around them. She stared at the wall and waited for him to find her. She didn't want to be a pest, so instead of going straight to him she let him have his time with what ever he was doing.

Theo kept his gaze locked on the painting. It was no secret that he missed his father, though he put up a cold front to make people think he was fine, changed but fine. After a few minutes, he asked, "What are you doing here?" He didn't look towards her, just watching the picture as if he expected it to do something.

Elizabeth didn't stir when he asked the question. "I don't know." she said lightly. Her answer was true. She really didn't have a reason other then her fellings telling her to come here. And when she found Theo here she decided to wait for him to finish what he was doing before she went to the painting.

Theo finally moved, turning his head towards her. "You don't know?" The tear from earlier had dried by then, but had left a stain on his pale skin. He watched her as intensely as he had watched the painting. Surely there was a reason she'd come down there?

Elizabeth looked away form the wall and over to Theo. "I don't know okay. Maybe I just felt like coming down here to look at the paintings." she said in a huff. She looked away abruptly and stared at the wall once more. She then flopped her head down on her arms as the felling of guilt went through her from speaking so hard to him. "I sorry. I just came down here because I suddenly had the urge to look at the painting. I don't know why though." she said to him loud enough for him to hear because her head was still in the hold of her arms.

Theo turned and walked over to his fiancee. He sat down beside her. He didn't say anything, at least not right away. He pulled one of his knees towards him and propped his forearm up on it. "I come down here when I need to think," he told her, not entirely sure why he was telling her.

Elizabeth tilted her head to the side slightly as she heard him speak. "Your dad...is that the reason?" she hopped she wasn't pressing him to hard. She watched him carefully. She noticed on his cheek a stain caught her attention. It was a tear stain. 'He as been crying.' she thought to herself. She moved her eyes from his cheek to his eyes. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to." she said after a moment.

Theo gazed down at her. "It's alright," he said. "Yeah, I've been thinking about my dad." He paused before saying, "You know, if he were still alive, we wouldn't be in this position." Vampires lived forever, so long as they weren't killed. Grant could have very well been the last king the vampires ever had. But, as things turned out, they were getting a new king in a few days.

Elizabeth turned her head and stared at the wall. "Yea I know. But you know what...I am a little glad that we are in this postion." she said after she thought about it. "But of course you would rather have your father here then me." she knew it was most likely true, and it hurt but of course the truth hurts.

Theo sighed. "Yeah, yeah, I would," he told her. "But, it doesn't matter now. I can't bring him back and I can't stop this wedding, not if I don't want Donovan to have the crown." He thought for a moment before adding, "But, as far as forced fiancee's go, there's no one I would rather have as my wife than you."

Elizabeth snorted and then looked over at him with a small smile. "Yea, same here." she said as she lifted her head up off her arms and sat her back against the wall. They were sort of simuliar in some ways. Such as their stubborness. "At least we got one thing in common. We are both stubborn." she looked over at him with a grin.

Theo smiled weakly and let out a quiet chuckle. "Indeed, we are," he said. Hopefully, that would turn out to be a good thing. Plus, they had great chemistry, but he didn't say that out loud. He turned his attention to the paintings surrounding them. "There are over two-thousand years of Renalldi's on these walls," he told her.

Elizabeth looked at the wall that had all the paintings. Her mouth formed an 'o' in amazement. She stood and walked to the many paintings and began to look at them. Her first trip down here she didn't get a good view of them. It was amazing to her that the family had stayed in rule for such a long time. She ran her fingers lightly over the beautiful paints as she went down the many genterations till she got to the picture of Theo's family. Her fingers ran over the baby that was Theo and then it traced up to his father. Theo had some of his features with some of his mother's, she noticed. She smiled at the photo and then looked over at Theo. "It's amazing. All these generations of rule." she spoke lightly and her eyes trailed over the many pictures that she could see.
