Yep, totally! And sweet! I actually finished mine last night as well (finally. I've
been working on them for ages but never got excited enough about it to do so).
This is gonna be great! As for nicknames, I hadn't really thought about it...
I kind of made them short on purpose so that they wouldn't need them. But!
For the purposes of fun, we can create some. Hmmm.... Ok! By combining
my own hideous childhood nickname story with that of my friend's, I have
come up with a potential plan:
They're baby sister had a hard time pronouncing 'Adrian' when she was a
toddler, so she would call him 'Addy,' like the girl's name, you know? And it
kind of stuck for a while, but he totally hated it. She also called Levi 'Levvy,'
messing up the pronunciation as kids often do, although that one didn't
really stick. Alternatively, (or perhaps in addition, but I don't want to go
overboard. Still, little details make characters more dynamic, so I dunno)
But alternatively, the family shortened all four of the children's names to
a single letter (I have a friend whose family does this, and as strange as it
sounds at first, it's actually super cute; I really like it) - so Levi was nicknamed
'L,' and Adrian would probably be 'D,' since 'A' just doesn't quite flow. Which
is why I was thinking of combining the two, since the 'Dee' pronunciation
could have come from 'Addy,' but I haven't decided for sure.
Also, regarding Matilda. How long has she lived in Soleil? Val and Clara
have been there for ages, so they would probably at least know of each
other. But I totally don't want to overwhelm you with... me-ness, so I'm
just throwing that out there, that you could potentially have maybe her and
Val be friends or something, but you totally shouldn't feel any pressure AT
ALL, and go and make plots with whoever you want, and if someday you're
thinking that maybe you'd like to give her another background bit, you can ^^
But you totally can just ignore this. Like totally. I wouldn't even be slightly
annoyed at all. They might not even get along (which we could also potentially
make into a thing that would be fun), or they might never have met, and all
of that is totally fine. I'm rambling. Shutting up now.

The day actually changed recently so Rina and Clara wouldn't be in Neon
Lights anymore. Shall we just assume that Clara didn't find anything
particularly odd about the interaction, and they continued as one might
expect a bartender and a patron to interact? Ordering drinks and nothing

That's so adorable, though. I think Addy and Dee are perfect nicknames for him. I'm not sure if Trendon would personally call Levi 'L', but I could see him maybe picking it up now and then, especially from hanging out in highschool.

Or Matilda worked with one of Val's friends or something? I'm not actually sure where Matilda will be employed, but I figure that's something to be figured out after her profile is actually accepted lol |

Yeah, the letter nicknames would probably be more of a family thing,
so I wouldn't be surprised if Trendon didn't use 'L' much, though he would
still be aware of it.
Hmm... well I don't think I have a very accurate grasp of Matilda's personality
yet, having not seen her in action or heard you talk about her much. They
could totally have worked together though! Just not for very long... because
Val tends to get fired very... very quickly. They also might be neighbors,
since Matilda is a young single person. A lot of those characters get
placed in Etoile, though if she's a little more well-off, then probably not. |

Lol I can only imagine what Trendon and Levi would be like together, drunk. Porbably the most obnoxious duo ever... And poor Adrian stuck as the designated driver, or something. Lol oh the suffering he must have had to put up with through highschool...
Yeah, Matilda's personality is a lot harder to get a hold of. It kind of took me a while to figure it out, actually, but I managed to just recently settle into it (like, this morning). She's basically, for lack of better words, a wallflower, at least at first. She listens and hangs back and does her work, and then suddenly, one day, totally out of the blue, she'll make some dry witty comment or something to a conversation. Only after she feels like she knows the people, though. And if it doesn't totally irritate the people involved, she'll talk with them and casually socialize. I'm trying to see if I can find easier ways to get her to talk, though, because as it is, she seems like she runs the risk of being too blasé and providing really horrible casual conversation (meaning boring). I'm thinking she may end up being a bit more snarky than she's been coming off as so far...
I'll have to keep thinking on it. If I come up with anything in particular, I'll definitely let you know, but part of it is that she's still kind of forming in my head, I think. Maybe I should wait to submit her profile, actually, just to make sure I've got a solid idea of her character first...
But hopefully Trendon can get accepted and I can start posting him fairly soon >) |
