They only ever seem to play with each other.

Trenn Flashkill Pikmin 3: NO ONLINE. REPENT. MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR MAKER. THE END IS NIGH. Yeah, I kinda thought it was horseshit. If they couldn't get it to work, they should have tweaked it. I get the feeling they didn't even try that. Even if the online co-op was a mere shadow of it's glorious offline self, I'd be happy just to have it, and I'd probably play it more too. Instead, there are too many entities on screen at once for it to be played over long distance? Really? Here's an idea, make everything in online co-op lighter. half the number of max pikmin. I am a genius. What if they... *gasp* Had to lower the resolution below 1080p?

There's no actual valid excuse for it not having online play.

[Kegan] What if they... *gasp* Had to lower the resolution below 1080p? They've already come out and said that none of their launch stuff is 1080p.

The day that Nintendo stops making hardware and just makes games will be a good day in my book.

i hope they will reconsider online for pikmin 3. i mean, keeping track of 100 pikmin and any number of enemies isn't impossible, MH tri managed to pull it off in a non annoying way. the big stuff is activly synced between all players and the small stuff isn't activly location tracked, just if its alive or dead. and it works just fine with little to 0 lag.

Xilo The Odd i hope they will reconsider online for pikmin 3. i mean, keeping track of 100 pikmin and any number of enemies isn't impossible, MH tri managed to pull it off in a non annoying way. the big stuff is activly synced between all players and the small stuff isn't activly location tracked, just if its alive or dead. and it works just fine with little to 0 lag. Actively Also, MH3 had a 4 player per game limit. You couldn't even be in a city with more than 4 people. (Remember all those times you were going to be part of a group of four and then some stranger would just show up?) Now, the wii has a lot less processing power than the WiiU will, and that means a lot, but the comparison to monster hunter makes little sense, because you never, that I can think of will have more than 10 moving entities, and 4 of those don't have any AI. For pikmin 3 it's 4 players and ALL OF THEIR PIKUMINU I'm not saying it can't be made to work; I'm just saying the comparison is a bit daft.

In unrelated news, I ended up deciding to go with DKCR. It's cool, and I like it, but I'm glad I held out. I don't have friends that will come and play it with me, so it's like I can't even fully enjoy it anyway.
