I got out of jury duty at the beginning of the year. Because school. :T
I can't get out of it... I'm not a student, don't have a job, and my county is so desperate for people to actually serve jury duty that they'll send out someone to pick you up if you can't find your own ride. So, short of causing a disturbance in the court (Which, honestly, just might happen, because I foresee myself blacking out due to a panic attack if I actually make it into the courthouse at all), I'm stuck with it. I get paid, tho'. Five bucks just for showing up, ten if I actually serve on a jury. THAT MIGHT PAY FOR THE GAS IT WILL TAKE TO GET THERE. MAYBE. I live, like, half an hour, forty-five minutes from the county seat... .__.;
All the specifics I have are just "sometime in 2014." I'll get another letter a few weeks in advance or something when they want me to report. It'll be... something. Not sure what, but it'll be something.
