If any game should be modded so that a day is actually a day long, it should be Pikmin. What is it, like ten minutes long? Fifteen? F that noise.

I would like that for Pikmin, too. It would be way better that way.

I don't mind the length of days in Pikmin. Just the 30 day bullshit.

I'd be really interested in seeing a game built around an internal clock. I've heard there's an Oblivion mod that does it.
I feel like Majora's mask only scratched the surface of things you could do with a realistic time mechanic.

I'm pretty certain that to some degree, Skyrim NPCs move aroudn the towns and even between the towns in a set time. For example, there's a Khajit caravan that travels from city to city. If they're not at one camp at a specific time you can just wait for them to come back that way.

[Kegan] I'm pretty certain that to some degree, Skyrim NPCs move aroudn the towns and even between the towns in a set time. For example, there's a Khajit caravan that travels from city to city. If they're not at one camp at a specific time you can just wait for them to come back that way. Sure, Oblivion had that too. But it's just social stuff; the landscape can't change and there aren't any puzzles that deal with it. Plus there's just a certain magic that comes with Animal Crossing-esqe gameplay. @Jaycorn: Well, yes and no. Animal Crossing was more about things happening whether you play or not, and about playing all year and seeing things change. What I'm talking about is more of a puzzle-adventure game. Something that follows a clock but not a calendar and doesn't punish you for not playing.

If we're going to be accurate, the days in Pikmin end at nightfall so it'd be more around twelve hours.
A game where a day is actually a day long could be interesting, but it'd work better as a new game than a mod for existing games. Especially MM and Pikmin; one 12-hour day in Pikmin would be longer than the entire game and one 24-hour day in MM would be equal to 20 three day cycles. There's softening the time constraints, and then there's what you're asking for.

Yeah, it wouldn't work as a real game for sure. I'd still like the days in Pikmin to be a little more generous, though. 2's nice because at least when you go underground it stops. When I get out, though, it's back to worrying about managing everything in time. I guess I just suck at RTS games.

You have to manage your time in real life enough as it is.
