Second time, I went along with the lyrics. Not once did it look like she was singing anything... Gotta admit though, the chick doing the voice over is pretty amazing. xD

So apparently I got detention for saying the word "hell" in Italian... It wasn't aimed at anyone, it wasn't said with any rude tone. In fact it was funny because I couldn't make any words while playing Scrabble so I said "what the hell?"
I'm fighting this. -never gotten a detention before- burning_eyes

I once got away with flipping the bird at a kid who was making fun of me in the cafeteria at my high school. >>;
And kids were always tossing profanity around, too, and no one cared.
We didn't even have to speak in a foreign language (though our Spanish teacher DID tell us some Spanish profanities).
Then again, I went to a tiny school, and I thoroughly suspect you go to a rather large one. ^^;
But still, if you've never been in trouble before, why would they slap a detention on you for something like that...?

You know what I would do? I wouldn't say another profanity. I would fight it. If you can speak to someone who handles it, calmly explain to them the situation, that you were playing scrabble and it just slipped out. It won't happen again, and you don't want a detention on your record. You are a good student, you care about the classroom environment (as evidenced by the fact that you never received a detention before), and you would appreciate if it could be resolved with a warning.
If that doesn't work, there's not much you can do, other than get your parents involved and talking to administrators and/or the principal, or making the teacher's life a living hell. Which may or may not be to your satisfaction.
In my school (around 3200 students, so a big school as well), you would get in trouble for those kinds of things, though very often they would let it slide. They were strict about being tardy and not wearing your I.D, though (we were required to wear an I.D, though the school wasn't in a bad area.)
I was lucky to have never received a detention in my life. I was incredibly paranoid of such things. I was a Mr. Do-Gooder
