More RPGs need to be set in the present or future and not like the medieval times.

Earthbound is the only thing that really comes to mind.
Come to think of it, I can't think of a single RPG that goes the "magic, but made possible by technology"-route.

Pokemon and the like, SMT/Persona? I just think the settings for those and Earthbound are more interesting and relatable than like... fields

Because I think I was 7 or 8 when that happened.
We went on a trip the the beach, and we didn't bring any food, and I was totes-duper excited when they brought back crunchberries from the store, because I wanted to try them.
I think the milk had ice crystals in it and I thought it went bad, so I refused to eat it after the first bowl.

MEGA MAN KOIBY MAYRIO SNOW BROZ ................Zelda 2!!!! Waynebrizzle Jaycorn k, bad example. I used to think this was a great game. I think the first game I ever played was this and I thought it was amazing, too. So long as you don't know any better, it's fine. In fact, maybe it's better when you don't because then you need less to be happy. WOW UR DUMB. Just kidding here's my first game. Well here's mine, lol Jaycorn Also cereal companies need to stop being racist against Canada. I just found out that the US has four different kinds of Cap'n Crunch wtf I was just talking about that with Lucas at the store. kmt

Regarding RPGs set in the present/future, aren't some of the Final Fantasy games set in a society that uses a fair amount of technology? Not completely devoid of magic, but closer to what you're looking for.
Aside from what's been mentioned, TWEWY and the two Devil Survivor games take place in roughly modern day time. Fate/Extra and the .Hack// series both take place in virtual worlds and were set slightly in the future (although I think .Hack is technically in the past now?). The Advance Wars series has no magic whatsoever. Infinite Space is outright sci-fi, although I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet.
I'm generally more worried about whether or not the plot and characters work than what time period the game takes place in; if your cast or story are badly written, I'm not going to care about the game regardless of when it takes place. I wouldn't have any objections to seeing more RPGs set in modern times, but I want them to be well-done.
