Is it just me or was the whole emo thing like dead now? Hit its peak around 2006 or so, maybe?

I just remember My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace and Panic! At the Disco and s**t being really popular and seeing guys with eye makeup and s**t way more back then. A lot of popular songs were depressing rock songs and now we just have drum machines, autotuned songs that are ALL either about love or partying.

I want the 90s back. D:

I hope lecterns become a thing in Minecraft. Then written books might actually be useful for mass communication. Just worldguard the lectern and it becomes like a sign with no shitty character limit.

Goths, emos, scene kids, and hipsters all just seemed like the same people to me; obsessed with being outside the norm. Once people call them out on being cookie-cutter personalities, they change it up again.

When I was like 15 I tried to be an "indie/alternative kid" for like half a year

I remember trying to force myself to like certain (awful) bands that had cool names and were indie, like "Neutral Milk Hotel" or "Young Galaxy" even though I didn't really like them so that I could tell people that I was into this awesome band they'd never heard of. My best friend at the time and me both.

I couldn't wait for people to ask me what music I was into so I could be like "Death Cab, The Postal Service, Coldplay, Metric, The Shins, Interpol, Of Montreal, The Smiths, Pinback, Radiohead, MGMT, Hot Hot Heat, Rogue Wave, Stars, The New Pornographers, The Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, The Decemberists" at them

I would just listen to them on my ******** iPod with my stupid friends

Also I would try to read lots and around that time I tried being vegetarian as well xd

If I could go back in time and just punch myself, I really would. I think I hate hipsters (and anyone who says they're a fan of "indie" music) more than most people do because of that phase.

I liked myself a bit better as an emo wannabe.

Teenagers can be ******** stupid when they're "discovering themselves" or whatever though D:

I think that the sheer level of obscure s**t I liked when I was really just starting to enjoy music was good just because it was different from all the boring stuff I was used to.

Also I don't think coldplay or radiohead would have been obscure bands.

I went through this phase where I felt really in touch with the british indie music scene... and then I just lost interest in it! Or maybe it just fell out of tune with my tastes.

These days I use pandora a lot, and I listen to whatever is catchy. Sometimes I just play the same few songs to death for a week or two. Recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1QUZzeZoPQ

You should a stuck with the vegetarian thing! I guess it's easy for me because I've come to love so many of these foods(Ergo my tumblr name.) I also never really cared for meat. I guess even as a child I found the idea of eating flesh kinda... wrong? I did it because I was lead to believe it was normal, but I got little to no joy out of it. Dropping it just felt right. It probably took me a year or two to actually figure out how to eat vegetarian, though.

yeah but they were "alternative" and had deep lyrics

I can't be vegetarian. I ******** hate salad and s**t like that (unless it has a creamy dressing). I craved meat and wasn't getting enough iron. So many of my favourite foods have meat in them.

Salad isn't really a very big part of my diet. I don't jusge people for not being vegetarian, because that is kinda the social norm and I'd have to hate everyone, but when someone says vegetarians eat a lot of salad I just feel like they're dumb.

Salad is good for anyone, but it's not replacing anything the meat products were putting in you. (except maybe iron, I guess, but any fortified rice would have loads of that.)

Veg(itari)anism is all about grains, nuts and beans.
