Today's excuse as to why noone will take me to practice driving is a "mystery indicator light."
Yesterday it was a sinus headache, and I've already forgotten the day before that.
It doesn't much matter. The days where my parents could afford to help their kids get their first cars are long behind us(were so, even when I was 16 and my dad was squandering his life savings on the dream of running a catering service out of a log cabin on wheels.), and the only way a person like me could get a job is through heavy-handed nepotism. Sadly I'm not very likable, and I'm terribly networked. No car no job. No job no car. I couldn't exactly borrow the mini-van.
My lack of independence as a 21 year old grown-a**-man may be partly my own fault, for my own anxieties, and my own excuses a couple years ago, but it's driving me insane.

Same, except that I have a job, and one that my dad apparently thinks is a joke.
I'm working at a college call center.
I'm making about 250 a week.
He's claiming half my check as rent and the stupid ******** doesn't give a s**t about me getting to work on time.
My shift starts at 8. It's a half hour drive.
He goes God knows where at the crack of dawn,
leaves his phone charging on the kitchen counter,
and doesn't get back until ten til 8.
And THEN he has the nerve to blame me.
"I was ready. You weren't even up at 7:30."
What?!
WHAT?!
YOU WERE NOT ******** HERE AT SEVEN THIRTY.
WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE ROAD AT SEVEN ******** THIRTY.
I got up at quarter till seven, that you very much.
And then he decided to to make a snide comment about stopping at a drive through for breakfast.
Well, hmm,
You get back at pretty much eight ******** o'clock, so I'm guaranteed to be late.
I'm already pissed off, so let's not agitate that with hunger, too, k?
....I need to get my own place already.

Well in all fairness, an indicator light could be something serious.
I think if you want independence you should actively seek it. Get someone else to teach you. A friend or relative. Surely you have a friend that has their licence.
And Caramel, that blows. That's a real difficult situation.
Kind of low for him to charge is daughter rent.

In all honesty, I wouldn't mind if I KNEW the money was going toward rent/bills,
but he drinks beer like water, and s**t's not cheap.

[Kegan] what is friend? Sometimes I wonder if I just smell really bad. I'm sociable in person, actually, and I don't talk about my butt being itchy or anything. I think it's just that adult relationships require cars. I befriend people in classes and then I never see them again, except maybe on facebook. If they have cars they usually have cars or more interesting friends. I'd invite people over except I'm frankly embarrassed by my family. I mean, how would any normal person react to an 8 year old boy screaming bloody murder like he was being skinned because the iPad is taking 5 seconds to load. Or the very same child walking around the house in nothing but a pull-up because my parents cannot or will not tame or institutionalize their violent, demented, little child. Plus I'm boring. And I don't really talk about Jude either. I guess I just pretend my house is a mess. It is, actually. No pretend needed.

He has autism, but they're also really quite scared of making him angry because he gets so loud and so violent.
I guess they're afraid he'll run out of the house in a pull-up screaming again, like he did a few weeks back when they couldn't find a DVD.

I hate living with people who stomp rather than walk normally, play their shitty music loud and have loud children, and who don't buy food but steal my food if I buy any even though I work like one day a week and have no money. And I can't work more than that because they will hold a grudge against me forever if I drop out of school. I am ******** starving.
