Under the obama administration, as a small example of a very direct effect, I can now continue to be under my parents' health insurance until I'm like 26.
Assuming they have it.
I think that considering that many republicans dedicated their entire time in congress to making him a 1 term president, he (And democrats in congress.) achieved a decent amount. You don't see many presidents that get much done. Mostly we blame them for bad things that happen under them.

The Eleventh AK Jaycorn Do you Americans notice any difference in your daily lives when new people are elected? I sure don't when it comes to Canadian elections. I don't really see them affecting anyone else's lives, either... you're right it doesn't matter lets give the gay-hating mormon all the nukes I don't think we have any gay-hating mormons running ever

I voted once... for Jack Layton before he DIED
Only because my family forced me to vote. And one of my dumb friends was like "if you don't vote I can't talk to you anymore"

[Kegan] Well, atleast you earned your right to complain wink No, seriously, though. People who don't vote and complain bug the heck out of me. Why? It's not as if popular vote accounts for anything anyway.

I admit that the electoral college is a bullshit system that really has no place in modern politics, but you gotta represent, yo!
You didn't vote, did you Wayne?

Anyway, wayne, almost certain that most congressmen are elected by popular vote. I'm pretty sure all house and many state's senate are elected through popular vote.
I could have some giant misunderstanding.
... but Congress is pretty important in actual politics.

Yeah, but we weren't talking about congressmen and you know it. The big deal yesterday was the president. And we don't really elect him. As a matter of fact, I think if we did, Romney would be president right now.

Nope:
Popular Vote Obama 59,584,123 Romney 56,961,230
And I was talking about voting. Not just the president. That might not have been what you thought I was talking about, but I've thought congress was more important than the president for a while now. That's why it bothers me that we have a republican majority in the house again sad
The districts are probably kinda gerrymandered, anyway confused
