Yeah, now you're speaking my language. All about that SA2 for me.
I listened to all of the ones you linked from SA, and I dunno, those are pretty forgettable for me. The exception being Mystic Ruins which for some reason I totally remember and love!
I wouldn't say they're bad, I just like SA2 much more. I certainly wouldn't say the char songs from SA are better than the regular stage tracks though.

I would say that I like the character songs for their lyrics, though. And that's why I still remember them.

a lot of the beats i recognized from SA were remakes of older sonic songs. the final boss music will always be burned into my mind though, best original score ever.
SA2 as a game i enjoyed more. hell on my old GC file (back when i was one of thsoe annoying 12 year olds) i had about 120 emblems, a maxed out chao, and a ton of rings already before i hacked to get all the emblems to play the hidden level.

Actually the mystic ruins over-world theme was probably my favorite sonic adventure song. THAT IS WHERE I SHOULD HAVE STARTED
