neat. such a great series. i was sad to learn the anime for it was so short. they could atleast gone for 12 episodes or something.

Short and sweet is the way to go. I've finished very few anime series simply due to how ******** long they are, but FLCL is so short I can watch and rewatch it.

lol I still haven't finished FLCL. My favorite anime series always have around 26 episodes or so. Too long, it gets repetitive and boring. Too short, maybe the characters aren't developed as well as they could be?
I woulda been happy if Pokemon had ended after the first season... or the first few seasons...

Yeah, but Pokemon was never meant to be a quality anime. It's a commercial.
Usually after 20 episodes or so I start to lose interest fast. Thirty episodes or higher, or multiple seasons, and you've lost me.

I generally end up sticking with 13-26 episode shows, but I don't have a problem with a show being longer or shorter provided it makes good use of those episodes. I can never stick around very long when it comes to endless shounen series, but I love stuff like Utena and FMA.
I couldn't see FLCL being any longer, though. What would you add to it?

Trenn has DBZ autism.
The longest anime I ever watched in its entirety was Monster at like around 70 episodes I think... eh, not worth it. It definitely could have been done in less.

I love Monster, but between the anime being a panel-for-panel adaptation of the manga and it taking a lot less time to read the whole thing than watch it I never actually finished the anime. I don't remember the story really feeling like it had much that was unnecessary, but I also read it all over a few days. Maybe when I re-read the series at some point.
