Deathgod of Legend Well yeah, the series grew with the systems but this is 3D man, this is it. Honestly, I'm not sure where they're going to go now that they've hit 3D on handhelds and HD on consoles, what more is there? Holographic displays? The strategy guide was probably the most useful thing they ever included with any of the Pokemon games. Well no one ever knows where Nintendo will go. We racked our brains and didn't think they'd make a tablet controller for an HD Wii or a glasses-free 3D DS. I loved the Pokewalker, I just wish it got more support. Though with Streetpass, you won't need one. heart

I seriously did not know anyone who got a strat guide with their game and either way it's not very useful anymore unless you don't have an Internet connection. The game itself is gonna be good enough, they don't need to include anything.
Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks DPPt kinda sucked.

gamefaqs has kinda turned into eliteists, mainly cause its all about the wiki's now. and they tend to be more informative.
anything pokemon i tend to use serebii or bulbapedia.
i actually picked up my copy of black the otehr day, but my DS randomly turned off while i was playing so. i'm not touching it till i get my 3DSxl, i jsut dont know if anything is wrong with it. so i'm not gonna mess with it.

And by insane I mean incredibly creative. Then ofcourse Sony and Microsoft come behind Nintendo and attempt to improve creating smooth or near identical b*****d children of their original ideas. Man, I don't know about this Pokemon business anymore... If I don't get another Bug/ghost or Bug/Ice in this gen, I may just give up faith in any other future gens. Probably still buy them though, Pokemon's like crack.

Jaycorn I hope the starters aren't dual types. Sometimes those have way too many weaknesses. Well, if the dual types are those that have been suggested, which are Fire-psychic, Grass-dark and Water-fighting, then there would only be one weakness overlap. Chespin would be Quadruple sensitive to bug moves. (Of which there have been historically not many powerful moves) He'd also get dark's total resistance to psychic moves. Froaky would get the least number of weaknesses, having one less than either of the other starters. Also, has anyone else been told/noticed that chespin is based on a horse chestnut? It makes a lot more sense. His name isn't at all related to the word "spin," but instead "Pin" like the spikes of a horse chestnut. The tail looks exactly like one of those little thorns, too.

Jaycorn I hope the starters aren't dual types. Sometimes those have way too many weaknesses. Pure grass has five weaknesses right off the bat. Something like grass/psychic makes it worse, but a well-picked second type could make that a lot more manageable. The starters are generally designed to be something you can use for the entire game, so I'd expect Nintendo to be smart about dual types and pick something that doesn't give you a ton of weaknesses.

dark ghost has but 1 weakness, if you cant name it your not a true master!
still my fav pokemon metagross is a dual, prolly the most balanced and strong dual around, steel psychic is only weak to fire and ground. both i can easily cover for. rock move to use on fire types (rock tomb so i gain a speed advantage) and for ground if i really find it necessary i'll just get magnet rise. then i ahve room for both a steel and a psychic move.
but...
i still love hone claws sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. attack AND accuracy? meteor mash has never been so mighty.

A great example of dual strengths and weaknesses are Bug/Grass which is probably the worst possible combination due to the massive amount of weaknesses between both types. Then you've got Bug/Steel which takes bug as one of the weakest and adds on Steel which is one of the strongest when it comes to physical attack and defense. This combination creates a devastating, versatile Pokemon with only one weakness: Fire. Course, I used hacks and gave my Scizor "Flash Fire" ability so he has no weakness. biggrin

If you were relying on it you'd still have to get hit by one and take massive damage, just to use a move at 1.5 power, with no same-type-attack-bonus.

See for yourself.

Grass/Bug gives you four weaknesses and two double weaknesses, while Grass/Psychic gives you six weaknesses and one double weakness. Both are terrible, though.
