Aww, oh well. It's not like the fake X form looked THAT much less dumb than the legit form - Mewtwo is still the best. I really wish people wouldn't try to make fakes to start rumors.
And yeah, but the way people are incessently rabid about Earthbound (as opposed to any other thing that doesn't get released here, period) - is too much. I mean, it's incredibly, incredibly easy to get all three games for free and play them on your computer. I wouldn't even REALLY call it pirating at this point because Nintendo doesn't care enough to (or can't, probably) release it here. They don't care whether we buy it. Itoi himself doesn't really seem to care much about the series anymore either. The message I'm getting from them is pretty much, "go ahead, pirate it, we implore you." So I mean, it's not REALLY that big of a deal that people need to be spamming up the Miiverse and badgering Nintendo and crying. Nintendo knows. I can sort of understand wishing to have physical copies of the game, but if they do release them it's only going to be digital on the Virtual Console anyway. And it's not going to make the games any better than they already are. In Mother 2's case, they might have to make it worse because of copyright issues.
But anyway, my point is that I don't like how much other people's opinions have to matter. A stupid reviewer could label a game with a number and it might change your mind about it when it turns out you'd actually LOVE it, or vice versa. I could like Earthbound or Ocarina of Time and be stigmatized for it because "EVERYONE thinks those games are the BEST when they're really not so you must be one of THOSE PEOPLE if you like it!!!"

Zephyrkitty Okay, I went and image searched the Mewtwo picture, and the only hits were a Tumblr blog with a post along the lines of 'wouldn't it be neat if...' and several sites posting a blank version of that Mewtwo picture, so it's definitely fake. Mewtwo could certainly get a second form that's dependent on version, but that's not it. The reason people want a rerelease of the Mother games is because they're on older systems and massively out of print despite Smash Bros giving the series new attention. Yes they're all available in English, but if I don't want to pirate them then I have to buy a NES and SNES, pay crazy prices (over retail price for most of today's games) for EB, hope I get lucky with a prototype EB0 auction, and even then I'm still missing M3. And none of that money has gone to the creators of the game since I have to buy everything used. I don't think EB is the ZOMG BEST GAME EVAR either, but wanting to support the series and not wanting to have to pirate a game to be able to play it are hardly unreasonable or ridiculous. It's the entire point behind fans asking for official releases of ANY game. if its out of print and not currently readily available at common retail stores or services, i don't call it pirating. if i sudden;y went oh i wanna play earthbound my first reaction would never be lets go out and pay whatever price people are asking and end up not liking it.

I don't think pirating is really wrong if a game is out of print. The company has given up on making a profit of it, and ******** resellers. Who cares about those people? I never sell my games.

I have heard the argument that pirating old games is bad because it shrinks the market of resellers. As thought the value of old games mattered. Try "it robs fraudulent reprinters from making a quick buck off of a hacked cart and a sticker." Oh no, not the FRAUD industry!!!

And it's not going to make the games any better than they already are. In Mother 2's case, they might have to make it worse because of copyright issues. I'm not sure where you're getting that Itoi doesn't care about EB anymore. He's not planning Mother 4, but he seemed to be pretty involved with the VC release of EarthBound in Japan last month. That's probably why you're seeing lots of people on the Miiverse asking about it too; there's a recent release to rally around. Where do physical copies or extras factor in? A super nice updated Mother Trilogy release would be amazing, but I think most of the fanbase realizes that that isn't happening and would be fine with simple VC ports of the games. At least speaking personally, I don't see 'you can download and play all of the games in English' as really being equal to an official release. I completely understand people being fine with pirating games that are long out of print (it doesn't bother me either) and I'd certainly take that over nothing, but I'd like the ability to "upgrade" to a legal release at some point. If I liked the game so much, I want to show my appreciation to the people behind it. 16-bit Jazzy But anyway, my point is that I don't like how much other people's opinions have to matter. A stupid reviewer could label a game with a number and it might change your mind about it when it turns out you'd actually LOVE it, or vice versa. I disagree about a reviewer changing your opinion being a bad thing. If just looking at the final score changes your feelings about a game then you probably didn't have very strong feelings about the game to begin with. However, if the reviewer writes a review that is well thought out and addresses some aspect of the game in a way that you hadn't considered, and you think about it and change your opinion as a result, I don't see that as a bad thing. Discussion of something affects your feelings about it, even if it just strengthens your existing opinions. I do agree that crazy fans can be really annoying though.

Zephyrkitty I do agree that crazy fans can be really annoying though. This goes for everything, though. Especially reminds me of me remarking that I don't care for InuYasha and some (ironically) self-proclaimed "otaku" replying that "Oh, if you don't like that show, you must not like anime, because that show is awesome!"

At least they shut up after awhile and they don't analyze every ******** aspect of Kid Icarus and how "amazing" it is.
It's a ******** average RPG with a unique setting and WACKY enemies. The end.
