Luckily I have no such problem. Fixation comes as naturally to me as thirst and hunger.
But of course, I can't really channel this. A man has no hunger for what doesn't please him and no thirst for it either.
I could stay up to 5 in the morning if I'm really into a book.

only thing i've ever been able to fixate on for long periods of time, are video games. some are like choose your own adventure book of sorts, others are a movie and tend to suck.
there are some books out there i might go re-read at some point but a lot of the new books, and books that last 700 pages (hairy plopper) i'll get to page 200, and feel like im doing schoolwork again, lose track of the plot, and my ADD mind goes, "wonder whats on TV..."

Hmmm. Among other things, they diagnosed me as having ADHD when I was a child.
And when I say they I mean the various shrinks and quacks that I saw as a child. When I was a bitter youngster I just thought I was seeing different ones all the time because my parents didn't like the results they were getting. As an adult I realize our insurance provider probably changed a lot.

I think they made that diagnosis pretty early for me. I'm not sure they would have made it when I was older. I wonder what they'd say I am now. ;P

Anime Detour had an event where you could bring old crap you didn't want anymore and swap it for other people's old crap. I have several anime and manga that I've wanted to get rid of so I decided to give it a shot.
I found one guy there who had Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, so I asked him if he'd trade them for any of my stuff. He took a look at what I had and said that he wasn't interested in anything so I could just have them for free. biggrin

I just remembered that I want Etrian Odessey IV, but it's still 40 dollars everywhere. I have a feeling it'll go out of print before it drops, since they've got it on eShop, and it's such a niche game.
I need a jorb.

XIV is really better in every way, I think. People get attached to the stupid parts of it, though. The subscription fee is the same reason.
That said, XIV: ARR doesn't release for months. You can still sign up for the beta, though. They'll accept a whole lot of people soon, I expect. I've heard that in the end phase of the beta, character data will carry over to the new game. Currently I have tried not to get too carried away with gear hunting.
