I hate moths. The one nice thing about winter is that there are like no bugs.

I want to write a short story about a world where magic is fueled not by some otherworldly force, but by charisma and sheer spectacle.

Like, people calling their magic attacks out, that's all about spectacle.

I think I've even posted about this before, but a clearer idea is coming into focus, of a story focusing about a lovable cheat, who struggles to keep up a persona, because it actually makes him more competent to do so.

I'm trying to think of a way this doesn't totally not jive with truth and reality. like in real life you want to be true to yourself and not stress out over the masks you keep up, but in this story, it'd be the opposite. Guy McSuave is actually a better magician because he ACTS like an aloof jerk and showoff.

Maybe the turn around at the end would be that he's actually crazy.

Seeing is believing, and believing is feeling, therefor, ergo, quid pro quo, the more you convince a person that what they are seeing is real and significant, the realer it becomes.

I see in my head a scene where this character has to pay for something, and the shopkeep is like "10 silvers." and he makes 10 silver pieces appear, one my one, stacked long ways on one finger, and then he just casually tips the stack into the shopkeepers front pocket, and walks away with the item he bought. And then when the shop keeper checks his pocket later it's like 10 peanuts or something.

I DUNNO.

I just can't be bothered to breed for IVs, or play pokemon... like at all.
