Xilo. you should totally host a Mo' Creatures server. Minecraft Forge makes installing mods as easy as dragging and dropping s**t out of your download folder.

You'd have to run it in 1.7.2, but the current minecraft launcher makes that braindead simple too.

minecraft is dead to me.

its all about starbound now. its written in actual code and runs way better.
Also starforge and cubeworld but both devs dont update much. and both games are still in alpha. but they have more potential in their icon alone then minecraft has in its whole folder.

edit: also for MC, most of the mods i liked as far as i know stopped deving, leaving whats there in a broken, non multiplayer capable state. so meh.

When I made a server and it worked, I think it only had the capacity to hold myself and maybe two other people. And it lagged a lot for me with one other person on. You gotta buy some high-tech equipment to be able to do that well, I think.

Yeah... it took me forever to google stuff and figure it out, and as soon as MC updated it stopped working and I couldn't get it anymore.

If you can host one person, you can host lots of people, just one at a time! ...though bunches of people being online all at once is definitely more fun.

well that part of the problem with MC, since it ALL programme din javascript its very resource heavy as it is. running the game and a server on the same machine for most common builds simply isnt viable. i have 16GB of RAM in my system, most gaming systems only need about 8GB tops. but for minecraft, to ensure it doesnt crash and can run along with teh game i set aside 6GB of ram as their cap so between game and server its a total of 12GB maximum it can use. (i think it only ever climbs to about 4GB but this was back when there were random memory leak issues my system was able to handle the problem atleast longer than other servers.) for most people they let a different rig handel teh server end then play on their actual computer, helps increase both the server stability and decreases the likelyness of lag due to taxing your system too much.

i could go on and on about it but i prolly wont host one ever again. the fact that MC is still on my computer is simply because i'll find that 1 day i will get so bored that nothing else in the world would be entertaining but for some odd reason minecraft will be.
