Actually, I don't know him. I looked him up in the guild and it's saying there's no one with the name Loyal Wolf in the guild....

Really, you've never met Wolfy?
He's still in the guild; go to the member list, sort by number of posts, he's near the bottom of the first page.
His actual UN is xX_LoyalWolf_Xx, his prof is over here if you wanna have a look.
I still talk with him every now and, he's really nice and I consider him a good friend~

Say, have you seen Loyal Wolf lurking around the guild lately? I still have some Philosopher's Cache stuff to give him. Haven't gotten any replies at all from him.

Try over in Lori's RP guild (click!), he hangs there with her a lot, they have a one-on-one they're both rather involved in there.
Or perhaps pop him a comment, I don't know that he really stops by around here terribly often.

Well, I did send him a note. Hopefully he'll reply.

Hopefully!
I know he's been on today, my friends list says he updated his status three hours ago, but he doesn't appear to be online right this moment, so perhaps he just hasn't caught it or had ample time to respond?
I'm sure he'll get back to you soon!

Yeah, just got to give it time I guess. I did get a few things off my list, but now I've got less than a million. Doggone this pesky inflation.

Yeahhh...
I can't afford ANY of the [animal] items that aren't from the gold shops.
(And I can't afford ANYTHING from Loyal's Bazaar other than the year shirts and the little bags.)
I love how these back-to-back gold sinks are doing jack all because they just keep releasing gold granters while they're doing it.
SO frustrating, especially from the point of view of what has been termed a purist who refuses to play the market or buy in to cash items and relies almost entirely on posting for their gold income.
What I have on right now I got from a really kind person in a charity else I'd never have gotten them.

Here are some tips and tricks I use to make my mani last longer!
- Use some rubbing alcohol or polish remover on your nails before you paint them; this strips off natural oils that prevent proper adhesion of polish to nail. This is drying, though, so use lotion or something when you're done!
- Base coat! Pretty much THE most important part of a mani; grips polish to the nail and prevents polish from staining your nail beds. Be careful with the base coat you choose, though, because the polish will last only as long as the base coat; Orly's rubberized bonder is always a safe bet, but it runs pricy unless you can catch it on sale, so if you want something that runs cheaper, try the Finger Paints base coat, it lasts a fair time for its price.
- Top coat! Fast dry top coats (like Seche Vite, a favorite in the nail community) might cause your polish to shrink or even dull, though, so try different ones until you get something that works for you. The staple top coat in my collection is from Finger Paints; it's cheap but lasts and is high gloss, takes a while to dry, though.
- Paint over the edges of your nails (basically a side swipe along the tip); gives a more rounded edge so it doesn't tend to chip as easily.
- Thin coats! Make sure you give each layer proper drying time, though, or this won't be as effective. Often shortens dry time rather than using a thick coat, though.
Also, certain kinds of polish are more prone to chipping than others; crackles and mattes are notorious for chipping simply due to their makeup; glitters tend to snag if you don't get a nice, smooth finish on top, which can make them pull away your polish; shimmers, solids, and other smooth formulas that dry glossy are the safest bets, as long as you get a good, smooth top coat on, glitters are fine, as well, but matte finish will always be inherently quick to chip.
And be careful with jelly polishes; they take a deceptively long time to dry and require MANY coats to become opaque and even to simply even out the color; if you like transparency (and have a steady, even hand to prevent streaks), you're safe, but if you want opacity, consider layering them over a solid instead of using them on their own.
I know I say this stuff all the time when talk polish, but I seriously would have killed to know this stuff when I was into nail polish when I was younger rather than not learning it until I was legal to drink...

emotion_kirakira ..so much nail polish wisdom.... emotion_kirakira
I knew about how important a base coat is. I didn't know anything about the polish brands though +.+
I forgot that nail salons to the side swipe thingy.
Yah I tried think once. Hahahahahano emotion_donotwant
i don't like glitter so yay!
Oh and I think you'll find these interesting:
-(I tried this one) Put nailpolish in the fridge for 15 minuets before use and it goes on MUCH smoother.
-apparently if you mix cornstarch and polish it makes a matte finish. I've seen pics but haven't tried it.
Lol that razz you are very knowledged in polishes :3

I stalked polish blogs for a while when I got back into polish and picked up a lot of stuff that made my life easier. ^^;
The Nina Pro line from Sally's isn't worth squat, do NOT get it. The formula is super watery and a mega pain (or it was last I tried it).
L.A. Colors is pretty fab, though; I have a purple shimmer that lasted a week and even made it through a visit to my beau's grandparents' place where I painted cabinets and stuff, and it's pretty cheap and available just about anywhere.
Pure Ice is usually good, it's a cheap brand from Wal-Mart.
Orly and China Glaze and Esse and O.P.I. are also good, but INSANELY expensive.
Sally Hansen has some good micro glitters and sparkly top coats, but I've never jumped for any of their solids or anything because it's rather expensive for colors I can dupe with other brands.
I have a great love for Finger Paints, too, but they don't really have great must-have seasonals very often, but I have a few favorites from their permanent line. (They have my favorite white that I use under neons and the occasional glitter.)
I'm not big on Revlon or N.Y. Color but they occasionally come out with good stuff seasonally and they're cheap. N.Y. Color also has a matte coat that I like (Matte Me Crazy, I believe) because it's cheap.
Most of my collection is made up of Pure Ice and Orly colors I got on red tag sale because they're just my personal preference.
I've also heard that it's worth raiding Claire's and Icing stores occasionally because they make colors that are close dupes of really rare retired polishes and they have fair sales on polish from time to time, but I've never owned any of their polishes, so I can't tell you anything from personal experience.
You can also make your own polish by taking clear coats and mixing in cheap eyeshadow for pigment.

Yah I used China Glaze before.
I got, like, five bottles! It's crap. It was soooo watery! It needed like, seven coats to be opaque too.
I'm using Covergirl right now. I like too emotion_dowant
Oh yah, I forgot to say that a white base helps neon pop.
I HATE N.Y.C. IT NEVER EVER DRYS IT'S A STICKY MESS.
Oh really? (I am clearly not versed in polish sweatdrop )
Oh yah I heard about that. I might buy some really nice eye shadow that I like (I don't wear it) and make some polish...

Yeahh, Nina seems to be one of those "you get what you pay for" deals because it's really cheap...
f there's a color you love, though, it's might be worth he buy if you have something you can layer it over; I have a purple with micro holo glitter in it that does okay over a solid cream.
I'm not big on CoverGirl, either, to be honest, the times I've tried it, the formula was a pain... I've heard they make nice dupes sometimes, though, and they have a fair jelly formula. They're also supposed to be really good to mix with other polishes.
I do a lot of layering. Sometimes there's a shimmer or glitter or something that I just love but has horrid formula so I use a brand and color I know is good and layer over. You can get some awesome effects that way, to be honest. (I have an Orly with mylar flakes in it that looks bangin' over blacks and dark purples and blues; I layer it to make it last longer since it's so stupid expensive.)
I'm an admitted polish addict. You can also buy wicked stuff from makers on the 'net, but those can get even more pricey than big brands and they occasionally burst or shatter during shipment.
Oh, there's also Julep, but I think you can only get that online? They say they have salons, too, but I've never lived in an urban enough area for that kind of thing. You may have seen commercials for them, they do a 'personalized' box thing by subscription and they pack in at least one polish and some other products every month, and what you get varies on the 'personality' of the box you choose to receive and the polish colors fit holidays and seasons near when they ship (like this month they'll probably do patriotic-y stuff). It's supposed to be really high quality stuff, a lot of polish bloggers get it.
Make sure to test before you do a whole bottle! Colors that look nice in the palette sometimes look entirely different in polish, and some of them don't like to mix up well and leave pigment chunks suspended. I've actually seen process photos from a blogger that used a really nice jade-y green but it turned out baby poop colored suspended in polish, so it must have had olive/yellow undertones. And if you ever do get into mixing glitters, be aware the a lot of them dissolve in polish and some 'bleed' (i.e. their color leeches into the polish).
And do a test swatch of the pigment you want to use on the back of your hand or something before you use it, you never know when you might have a reaction to something, and I'd hate to find out AFTER I mixed it up and put it on my nails,. ^^;
EDIT: Please ignore the typos, my keyboard is not being kind today...

My bestie found pictures she took when she visited me a couple years back.
Several were of my Frankie cat.
She sent them over to me because I don't have many photos of him.
I really miss my cat now, though...
He's been gone almost a year now and I swear he's still around some days.
I figure if he's haunting me at least he wanted to stick around and keep me company, right?
There will never be another cat like him, he was... something else entirely, the weirdo.
(In one of these photos we put a party hat on him. In another, he had let us put a hairbow on him. cat_xd )
Anyway, sorry to be all weird, I just wanted to get this out there!

I was really off put to try any kind of polish after a nail salon did some kind of gel nail without my knowing.
My nails were RUINED; they were shredded and flaking and SO rigid. They were horrible and thin beyond belief.
I let them grow out and they're doing pretty well now.
I'm not overly crazy about nail polish, so I'll only get what I see in the stores.
OH I almost forgot! My mum bought these nail art pens (which is awesome because before I was doing nail art with thin thin brushes and it was kinda sloppy) but now I can get in so much detail I made the poison bottle from the Sherlock stories (put out by Barnes and Nobles) I can post pics later.
I bet there's a nail polish of the month club (if there's a bacon of the month club, there's gotta be one for polish)
Kinda related: I found out that a book of the month club that was in New York had moved to PA (where I am currently) but it went out of business. BOO!
OMG NOOOO! (and I love jade)
Wow I never knew that...
Yah I probably should.

I didn't take many photos of him so I was super excited when my bestie said she had a batch.
And it actually really helps to know that I'm not the only one that misses a pet so long after their death.
Probably it wouldn't be so bad if I had another cat at home, but instead we have four dogs. ^^;
My mum would probably choke me if I tried to bring another cat home. >>;
While she likes cats well enough, she prefers dogs.
And I'm not sure Daisy, our bloodhound mix, would get on with cats, I've yet to test her with them.
But she doesn't get on so well with our bassets so I worry she'd not much be fond of cats.

I've never been to a salon; seemed silly to pay someone bookoo bucks for something I could do at home for half the price and still have polish left over to do it a dozen more times at least.
Plus, I don't think I could handle letting a stranger mess with my nails. ^^;
Gel nails are actually a good option if you have inherently brittle or weak nails because they don't break easily (they're also nearly impossible to chew through and, as such, a good choice to break a nail biting habit), but you have to keep going back to get gel fills and have to removed in a certain way to avoid destroying your nail beds.
There's also gel polish, which lasts WAY longer than regular polish, but it has to be cured with a UV light and taken off in a certain way as well and bottles are often smaller, so it's expensive to start out with as you have to buy the light for curing and all, but eventually evens out with normal polish since it lasts longer per mani, though I don't know how gel polish interacts with the nail bed since it's way too expensive for me to invest in a UV curing light. (Plus, I find joy in new manis.)
I only buy from stores because shipping on polish is exorbitant if you want fair insurance against bottle shattering. Plus, it's hard to tell what a polish will REALLY look like online; Sally's has real polish swatches that you can lay over your nail bed to judge the color, and most other stores have real polish swatches by the display, at least for the big name brands like OPI.
I have a tiny brush I use for art manis (a 00 synthetic bristle meant for line work in acrylics) and I actually prefer it; as an artist with a good bit of brush experience, I have more control over a full-sized paintbrush than anything else. I just gather some polish off the bottle brush and go with it, then soak in a little acetone afterwards. (I'm also ambidextrous, so that helps. ^^; )
I did a fair snowflake mani Christmas before last (my first art mani ever), my younger cousins liked it, as did my beau's auntie (who's big on make-up, far more than myself).
I don't do my nails (and especially not art manis) very often because I have genetically weak nails. Plus a fair few of them get ripped off on a regular basis when I have to break up or prevent dog fights.
(Currently I have one nail that was ripped away near my nail bed and another nail that has damage past the nail bed and will undoubtedly break off once the damage grows out a bit; I can't stand doing my nails when they're uneven, and even more I can't stand to paint my nails when they're short because I think it looks ugly. )
There are all sorts of "polish of the month" type programs out there, let me guarantee you that; I've read reviews on more than one, the Julep Maven program just happens to be the most popular because they pack high quality products in their boxes.
I thought you were a Jersey girl? owo? (Or are you visiting/on holiday...?)
I don't do book clubs because I don't get on with people much. >>;
Though I think it would be fun to do a monthly book discussion thing over in the literature sub, though I wouldn't want to limit everyone to single book because 1) people have greatly varied preferences in genres, so a limit of a single book in a single genre seems off-putting; 2) I love hearing about lots of different books so I can compile a list of possible future reads.
But I oscillate between "I WANT TO READ THE EVERYTHING" and "I have no motivation to read ANYTHING..." moods, so I'd probably be bad at something like that. ^^;
