Duri took her eyes away from her, and faced ahead. Kagura still seemed pretty drowsy, she struggled to keep up with the others. "Nyaaaa~ I'm tireed..." She yawnned.

((Hm... I read. Her posts are so short. >_> And I read fast.))
Aleta heard his answer, and nodded, "Thats interesting... and rather depressing." She looked over her shoulder at Rafeal. He was gazeing at the sun again, thinking about how much time they have. "So... what was your youth like. I know it sucked, and you don't talk about it much but-" He cut her off, his face turned grave. "Thats because I don't want to. Unlike you, I want to let go of the past Aleta." He thought he would offend her so, "I understand why you won't let go... your life was good." He smiled, sadly.
"Oh..." Her eyes were downcast. "Its just... I want to know more."
He sighed, "I'll tell you later, when this is all over, okay?" Rafeal caught up to her, and put his arm around her. There was a wide ledge above them, it was big enough to build a campsite on.

Once they had reached the ledge, Kagura dully wobbled infront of the others and collapsed, sound asleep. Duriono released June's arm and stretched his back out. They had made their way up the mountain a far way, he was kinda relieved to be able to rest. "Alright, we'll talk about this later.." He whispered to June and took a seat on a large rock.

June rolled her eyes, crossing her arms and looking over the ledge solemnly. she hummed lightly, careful not to disturb the others if they were going to rest here. For once her body wasn't that tired.

Rafeal shuffled onto flat ground, and sat down. More like plopped. His body was limp like a doll's, climbing was hard work. Aleta wasn't as tired, but she didn't feel like pitching tents and building a fire. "Alright, we'll rest here." She retrieved her sleeping bag from her pack, Rafeal did the same.

Duriono gave a gentle shrug, "I'll keep watch.." he raised a hand, "We'll probably need someone to look out." He tugged out an apple from behind his back and took a bite out of it.

The sun was sinking low in the sky once the set up camp. A low fire was burning in the center, surrounded by a wall of stones. The colors of the sunset played on the stones and streaked them with red so they appeared as if they were smeared with blood. Rafeal glared at the setting orb in the sky, knowing its dissapearance would bring them trouble in the night. It was almost as if he was angry or fearful the day was ending. Aleta looked at him suspiciously, wondering what was going on in his mind. The drow noticed this, and put on a happier face. "I'm hungry... I'm gonna go and shoot me a jackalope!" He picked up his bow, and stalked off towards a spot on the mountain covered in brush.
"I think I'll keep fist watch." Aleta announced.

Duriono shrugged, Aleta decided she would keep watch. He didn't care who did, just as long they got to live another day. He tossed a twig into the fire, just to watch it burn up. Then looked up at everyone, "So I'm guessing everything ends tomarrow.." he crossed his arms, reminiscing about their journeys. "You remember when I lost my hat to that chicken? and ended up getting maulled by a huge pack of them?" Duriono stated, trying to lighten the mood as well.

((Rafeal said that... meh, Aleta might be better suited for it anyway. *edits*))
Aleta sighed, "Yeah... tomorrow." She was thinking about how she was going to do this. "Honestly, I don't even know how we're going to do this. My brother never told me how to destroy the damn thing... only I'm the only one who can do it." A thought crossed her mind, "You know, all of this... its Jack's fault. He let that demon-goddess go in the first place." She felt angered by this. Then Duri mentioned the chicken. "Yeah... I remember that." Aleta tried to think of a happier memory, it would take her a while to recall one.

June stood on the edge, completely ignoring everyones conversations. Her humming has stopped as one phrase caught her attention: 'It all ends tomorrow'. They probably meant they'd fulfill the mission with the box, but that wasn't of any consequence to her in the least, despite her having stuck around this far into the game. That's all it is, isn't it? A little game. They had their agenda, and she had hers. It only seemed convenient at the time to stick around. Only convenient. Could they possibly care if she went to complete her own mission? Of course they wouldn't, right? They were as well aware as she that she had her own path to take. In circles of life, it seemed they'd met only an instant. But the statement could be true. It may be already too late to try and finish what she started, to cut off that one last thread. If she loses her immortality, she would surely be inable to do such. But she's died already, hasn't she? Of course she has. Barbarus had killed her at one point in this game, and her only free pass to life was Pandora's sacrifice...just a pawn. Who knows, perhaps she herself was a pawn to someone else? Then again, at some point or another everyone's someone's pawn in this game, patiently waiting to be moved forward or back by the player. Careful, coarse hands that would sweep you up against your will and place you somewhere you may not wish to be. It was a heartless thing, the master, the player, whoever was the one in control of every movement and sacrifice. But that was normal. One couldn't blame a higher power for simply utilizing what he had left on the board, right? She could. she met the one playing this game. He met the opponent. Such grace to be able to meet your maker and live comes with an equally great curse. Seven lives. No one needed to know of the others; they weren't important. If she were to care enough to count her lives, she'd already passed through five of them. Two to go. If she were more careful with her first three lives, she may have discovered the depth of the game. Suddenly one looks not only from the sky at the bored, but from the side, revealing the numerous layers that may immediately confuse the poor onlooker. But the player knows very well how to play. He's played before, she'll play again. A never-ending cycle of what was, what is, and the levels to come. What game piece was she? What piece was anyone else around her? The knowledge tainted her eyes, giving them their current colour. It burned. she saw what others couldn't see, and the only thing that seemed to interest them was the what is--their colour. It didn't matter to them if she was born that way, if she had the colour changed, or that constant burning that plagued her night and day despite her demeanor. They didn't care, why should she? It's only pain, pain is fleeting, it always is. Her pains don't go away, though. They simply get pushed back as she continued on to the next thing, unable to see the inevitable pain before it hits. That didn't matter. One more droplet of deep blue pain added to the chambers of her heart. she couldn't tell them any of this. Why should they know? It may be Duriono that she'd spend the rest of her life with, but that's one of another. One more life would go by, one more lover, one more trecherous tick of the clock until she could finally rest in peace. Perhaps she wouldn't burn in her next life? It may be another form of torture to her entirely. She may be frozen inside, unable to feel the heat of desire. She may be poisoned, her mind constantly consumed by the plaguing thoughts of killing, blood, hate, envy. Perhaps it would be complete solitude for her; an inability to let anyone inside that shell that she'd spent years creating. But what's the point of that? Someone would eventually break through, see those terrible soul sparks that consumed her over her lives. They'd run away screaming, or pity her. Oh, how she hated others pitying her. It did them no good, and it did her no good. They wouldn't be able to help her. Maybe she'd kill them instead. It took a minute for June to notice the smile that spread accross her face. Snapping back into the world, she'd concluded it to not be a problem, since the heavy atmosphere had temporarily lifted. something about chickens... Duri was at it again. June's smile became less sadistic as she watched him out of the corner of her eye. He'd been the only one to make her truly laugh, truly smile. It took months for her to uncover that what she'd felt was true, since she's practice for innumerable years to be as fakely genuine in her cheerful personality as possible. Of course, there had to be some truth in her. some truth in the way she responded to sparring, some truth in her response to those perverted men at the tavern. She never wanted to lose herself. Too late now. June looked down over the edge, the slightest hint of vertigo setting in as she reminesced on the scattered bits of memories from her old lives. Oh, how interesting they were...

((*raises white flag* June, you da best. I can't top that, never could!))
Duriono ran a bandaged hand down his scarred face. He had spent an awful amount of time on this adventure, that was all he had ever thought of anything. Another adventure, another kill, another loss.. Another person to lose.. It was in moments like these that he really searched back into his mind for something to either keep moving forward for, or drop everything while your ahead. Words and voices filled the library known as his mind.. His little counselors had shut up for an awfully long time now.. Now he had to do everything himself, accept his mistakes, accept the risks. He then remembered Mary and Heirou. Their voices appeared in his mind, blowing away everything else and bit into his sanity. Fire crackling, a single bullet, blood, bone, skin, tears. That fateful mission was filled with them, and it was his fault. "He'll abandon you, y'know.. if he even lasts that long, either that or he'll die protecting you." Mary's words boomed in his head.. What if he did die? What if he had to choose between abandoning June for the world? The world was all he ever wished for, something to do, something to feel, adrenaline filled, violence everywhere.. What more could a demon want? An angel? Yeah, that was it.. He also loved an angel. He probably wouldn't be able to go on if anything happened to her.. But what if at the cost of her, the world is overrun? His family killed? Kagura... The little girl sleeping soundly on the ground beside her. A doll clutched in her arms. Those beady little eyes peered into his soul, kicking him like a badass into the pits of sanity. This is madness... Madness? This is sparta! A movie played in his mind, had he finally lost it? Years of thinking did this to a person. Through sanity they became insane.. Aware of everything, yet blind to all. He held his head tightly for a moment, then glared back down at that doll. Nothing made sense anymore, but it all made sense to him? How was that possible? Does he even really exist? Will anyone ever know. What the hell is Sparta anyway!? Shut up.. He gave the doll a tired look. He took off his hat, and placed it into his lap. Within it, the memory that plagued the cut already made, infecting it and creating a full blown disease. Fire everywhere, burning buildings. A squad of three.. Three dashed through the flames, feet tapping rapidly. Ground falling around them, a man appeared. Gun drawn, he fired his round at Mary, and a blond man lunged out infront of her, taking the shot in the head, blood splattered all over her.. the body dropped, coarse and crippling.. Fire engulfed them for a moment, fire engulfed the screen. He now saw himself on the ground, eyes wide open and unmoving. June hovered over him, shedding tears. A gun was tossed over to her, she shakilly picked it up, placed it against the base of her chin and- "I'm getting too old for this..."
