"Yeah, and only the first had to exist," Theo said as he got to his feet. "Most of the people you see in this hall were murdered. In fact, only the ones in the last painting still live." So many people had been killed. How long would it be before he joined his forefathers? He didn't want to think about it.

Elizabeth's eyes widened. All murdered! She looked back at the people under her hands. The last ones to live. She hoped that Theo wouldn't die and join them any time soon. At least as long as she lived he wouldn't and she would make sure of that. "It must be horrible to have your family murdered. Now it is up to us to see out that your family stays to rule and live on." she looked back at the painting and into the eyes of Theo's father. For some reason just by his eyes she felt safe. It was strange.

Theo just shrugged. "I never met any of them," he told her. "My father was already king when I was born. Besides, it's been like that for every generation. Sure, some have families that don't have to, but most don't. Usually, the only ones that have kids are the ones in line for the throne. The rest just live childless or take a fledgling."

Elizabeth looked over at Theo. She looked back at the painting thinking. She wondered if she would stay human after the wedding. Most likely she would, for safty of the human race. She sighed and let her hand slip from the painting. She didn't say anything to him, she simply stood there staring at his father and him as a baby. She felt safe with the both of them, that was one thing they had in common that she knew of.

Theo got up from where he sat, walking over to her side. He looked down at her, since he was the same height as his brother who was a good head taller than her. After half a minute of silence, he asked, "What are you thinking?"

Elizabeth looked up at him and then back at the painting. "It's stange. Even though he is just a painting, I feel safe. The same with you." she looks away from the painting and up at him. "I feel safe around you. That is one of the characteristics you got from him." she gave him a gentle smile, her eyes shining with calm beauty.

Theo smiled down at her, a smile, almost sad smile. Though, it quickly turned happy and perhaps even a bit excited. "I also inherited his love of ice hockey," he said. He was excellent at it. He was also very aggressive on the ice as several people had found out in the past. As if ice hockey wasn't aggressive enough!

Elizabeth was surprised by his words. 'I fell bad for the people that got in his way.' she thought as she smiled at him. "I can't imagine the other team getting one point with you against them." she said which was most likely the truth. She would like to see a game though. She seen them on TV before but never in real life.

Theo shrugged but he couldn't suppress the tiny bit of his sadistic self that jumped for joy at the thought of slamming an opponent between himself and the wall of the ice rink. "They got some points, but they paid heavily for them," he said, grinning.

Elizabeth shook her head and couldn't help seeing the joy in his eyes. "I would think they did. Have you played recently?" she couldn't help asking him. She woundered were he played at. She really want to give it a try, but...thats the thing. She was going to be with a competitive vampire.

The happiness and excitement died from Theo's eyes. He shook his head. "Hockey was one of the things me and my dad really enjoyed doing together," he said. "After he died...." He broke off, not wanting to say anymore, not that he really needed to.

Elizabeth looked away, angry with herself for asking. "Oh," she said while she yelled and kicked herself mentally. 'I can't believe I asked such a thing.' She yelled in her head as looked at the now saddened eyes of Theo.

Theo suddenly shook his head, his smile returning. "But I really want to get involved in it again," he told her. "I love hockey, and I love seeing the look on the opponent's face when they realize who they're up against." A dark grin formed at his mouth. Never had he and Donovan looked more alike.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow from his words then she took a step back at the look on his face. "Well then. Why don't you do it again now?" she asked with a thought. She placed a hand on her hip and gave him a smile.

Theo tilted his head. His eyes lit up at her suggestion. "Alright," he said. "You want to come watch?" He wouldn't dare suggest her actually joining in. He wouldn't let her. She would get crushed.
