Selene tapped her marker on the projector, pausing when the noise levels in the room became unsatisfactory. "Eh-hem!" She quietly cleared her throat, "I know there's much to discuss about these lovely forms but let's keep the talking to a minimum until the lecture is over, thank you!" She eyed that hand in the air, hesitated, and then waved her hands frantically. "Please hold all your questions until the end, I will ask for them then~" She placed another slide gently on the projector, and a fearsome creature flooded the room with it's dark light. "For those of you who don't know, this is our very own Professor Elekereth. He is a Pricolici! And such a creature he is, too, the stuff of nightmares. A Pricolici is a vampiric undead werewolf! There's just so many scary things about him, it's hard to imagine a human not passing out at the sight of him! That would be unfortunate, because unconscious humans do not emit Fear. Did you know; one of the best methods of Fear obtainment is through dreams - but humans do not dream when they are forced unconscious? Fainting, comas, so on, these are states of consciousness where the mind is not at rest, and therefore does not expend itself in dreaming!" What an interesting little factoid that had nothing to do with the topic, thank you Professor Selene. "Ahh, but moving on! You'll notice the pricolici is not as mammothly large as our friend the phoenix and behemoth, but he makes up for it with sheer horror factor. That face, the rotting body, and can you imagine the sounds he might be making! All of these factors lead up to one very wonderful end product - true Fear! And he wouldn't even have to lift a paw." Selene giggled childishly and rose her hand up, curving it like a paw and clawing the air with it. Why. Just why.

There was a loud yelp in the air, followed shortly by a muffled whimpering as Jason shoved his feminine hands in his mouth to keep from screaming at the sight of the undead monster. Because, yes she was right, that thing was the stuff of nightmares, and he was going to have nightmares of that thing for weeks to come. He couldn't even make sense of the...were the hell was it's jaw? What was hanging out of it's mouth?!
No he didn't, and if he wasn't careful he was going to prove Selene right by passing out.

Barth appeared, predictably late, as if summoned by some unknown incantation.
Very possibly having to do with the mention of naps.
Or the promise that this was a lecture class, which Barth rather liked, because they involved sitting in one place and looking attentive. Which Barth could manage, as long as he sat near the back and propped his head up with a claw.
He parked his skateboard at the door and slunk very sheepishly into the first available seat, grateful for the rest from standing.
He was also looking especially and brilliantly attractive in a roguish, disheveled way. There was a hypnotic blue rose pinned to his lapel.
It was supposed to be for research, but he'd taken a shine to the thing and didn't like to leave it floating about his room under a glass container all the time.
Pricolicis? Like Shehk, weren't they? Undeadish dog things. ...Ah. Right. Natural forms. Barth was capable of managing an unnatural and magic-induced one, if he studied up enough about it, but his usual shape was...well. The one he was using.
He did seem actually attentive at the mention of the conscious vs. the unconscious.
And at the promise of not having to lift a paw.

"That's jacking cool!" Tybalt looked up at the screen with delight. A canine! And an awesome one at that. He hadn't even been aware of a canine professor in the school, aside from Red. He wanted to meet him sometime! In fact, he was surprised he hadn't met him yet! This had to change! Maybe he could even show him the K9 club!
Looking at these slides, Tybalt could only hope that he would be as big and as impressive as his teachers someday. Then again, he had never heard of a black dog growing to such a size, so maybe it was useless to dream for as much. Black dogs were smaller, but fast and usually relied on speed and stealth over strength.

Somewhere in the back of the room a certain raum demon sat staring blankly at the screen and wondering what he was doing here in the first place because clearly his natural form was...well, not that great.
He moped.

Elsewhere in the room, Sparrow sat taking fastidious notes because yes he was a good student and that's what good students did.
------------
Even further across the room, Ren kicked his feet up and may or may not have accidentally kicked a certain black dog in the head as he flopped across him to get a better look at the screen, arms draped over Tybalt's head.
"These natural forms are something, aren't they, Tybalt? Oh -" A glance sideways, Ren lifting a hand and waving cheerfully.
"Hey, Barth! Haven't seen you in a while, man!"

And then there was Mengyao, attending not because he actually wished to learn about the natural forms of the population of Amityville, but mostly just to get a general feel for how the classroom system worked here. He had not yet attended any of its classes (more out of irritation and stubbornness than disinterest), and while this particular one may not have been his first choice, well...

Shehk stared at the projector in a mix of horror and shock when the pricolici was flashed on the screen, as though someone had just ripped her tongue out (albeit it wasn't as impressive as the hanging tongue that Elekereth had...).
"When did....."
Clearly the resident pricolici had never been informed she wasn't the only pricolici in town anymore.

Tybalt was admiring the screen minding his own business when something hit him in the head. He would have turned around and snapped at the culprit, but before he could, that same person, or the feather brained bird, Ren, flopped over him, keeping the black dog in his seat.
"You're squishin--hey! You're squishing me, fuzz for brains!" he growled out from beneath the gryphon's arms. He attempted to shove them away, but gave up and settled for crossing his arms over his chest and glaring directly ahead. "Yeah, they're massive. As amusing as that would be, I doubt we'll ever get be able to reach a size like that." He did grin at the thought of having such a large natural form though.

It didn't take long for Damien to slink over to the pricolici that he knew personally and pat her on the ear. The slide lessons were interesting, as he barked at the picture of the other canine shown on screen.
K9 pride and all that. It seemed that tybalt felt a similar sense of pride too. it made him wonder how he was going to improve on his form, to be as imposing and fearsome as them.
and hopefully not on fire like the bird. For now he was happy with just flopping on Shehk and kicking at Frost in jest.

The arrival of Solia was oddly silent. While she was certainly curious about the classes and such, she figured they were a bit boring. Nevermind the whole 'I graduated high school why do I have to go back this is dumb'. Arms crossed she sighed. The male zombie's body wasn't that bad. Minus the rotted arms and half the face, but she was tall.
And that was the best.
Watching the slideshow, Solia wondered if face meltyness was common. A thing to look up. But... the sizes were a bit large. How did a hige thing scare if it couldn't even fit into a room?
Not always, some master the ability to change their sizes. Or, take alternative forms.
What form did you have?
I was like... hummmm. You called it a blue jay.
Solia sighed and wondered if she should be taking notes. If they were teaching this in class, it was a fair bet that the hunters knew all this already.

"Sophie, a pleasure then. I hope Alexander is treating you well." He offered to her, before the class started.
Giving the little ghoul a curt smile, he sat back in his chair, eyebrows raising a little at her sketches. Jack wasn't the greatest artist in the world, so whne he got his little sheet, he kind of stared at it for a bit before the Proffessor went off on a new tangent, head tilting a little at all these large and fear-worthy forms.
"It must be nice, I'm not the tallest creature when I'm in my natural form. Mostly for tricking and quick get-aways." He admitted lightly, shrugging it off, before seeing the little kitsune wander into the room, giving her a soft wave. She could come sit in his seat if she wanted, he'd take the floor.Eldrid had tried so hard to get his drawing done in time - he was a good artist, (he thought), but when the paper started receiving burn marks from him trying too hard, he abandoned it all together, throwing the paper over his shoulder.
Watching the slide shows, his head tilted a couple times, left and right, as if expecting the teachers to jump on the little stick-humans - even if they really had no choice. Catching the sight of the familiar bird demon, he lightly poked the Raum, giving him a little light eyebrow raise, hoping he could hear out the demon's . . . woes.The likely reason why Mengyao had been sort of snuck in the back was the little horsewoman sitting next to him kind of ooing and awwing silently, leaning a little forward like a child learning how to do something for the first time. Admittedly, she had come to hear about the kinds of animals and what-have-yous that the students became, but when she started learning about things like size versions human-relativity, it really spoke to her.
She was not sorry that the Noble was there though, even if he seemed . . . detached a bit. Sitting back a bit again, she sort of leaned toward him, eyebrows raises a little"Seems like an interesting idea, being able to just kind of trounce around, scaring fear out of the humans as easily as that. Large creatures made of things and whatnot," she said quietly, just enough for him to hear.

While Enzo had not so discretely downed the small vial of sweet liquid, shivering with a sigh as the pleasant taste of Amarus's essence followed by a wash of mind-numbing goodness, a certain aloof professor had stuck his nose back through the doorway.
Just a slide show? It was dark, the snake was waiting, but he really aught to show his support, and Malcolm was there it wouldn't be as bad as he thought, right?
His tail twitched as he took a seat, little pink feet tapping their claws nervously on the floor as he tried to be a good and non-cowardly part of the supporting staff.

Why were there.. suddenly.. so many latecomers flooding in.. "Ah.. hello.. yes.. take a seat - is there.. is there someone advertising this class outside right now or something? We're already in the middle of the lecture, you'll have to get the notes from another student.." Selene's eyes were most definitely getting misty, but otherwise she forged onward, pulling out her next slide. "This is a wonderful example of a natural form that does not conform to the normal standards of creature-form. There are so many interesting natural forms out there, uncountable numbers really! This one is called a shoggoth." "Shoggoth are delightfully wicked looking monsters. What you see here is two different positions of the same natural form. On your right, the extended open tentacle monstrosity, and on your left, tentacles are wound up to offer a more mobile version. You need mobility when you're trying to collect Fear in the human world, after all! Speed is key, and safety above all! Some humans aren't easily feared - and some are actively trying to fight us. You wouldn't want to get caught immobile around one of those." Her marker started to circle important parts of the tentacled creature. "For some reason.. humans are very scared of things with too many of something. Too many eyes, for example. And they also have a fear of tentacles. Were humans attacked by tentacled monsters at one point in their past? I don't believe so. What, then, instigates this strange fear of these long appendages? Perhaps it is simply that - the more you have, the more you can do!"

Shehk's ear flicked when Damien touched it and she flicked his back with a slight grin, leaning back on one arm as he flopped onto her, reaching to scratch behind the ear she'd flicked. Hey. She knew how sweet spots worked.
"You're funny." she mused, looking up at the strange amorphous shape that was shown on the screen and giving it a curious look before her ears flicked back. Hm.

What was that!? Thackery sat up taller in his seat, craning to get a better view of the slide. How did it have so many heads? How did it look so intimidating with so little effort?
He furiously scribbled down notes, trying to determine the secret behind this.

Sibyl gasped. "You killed her!" She covered her mouth with one hand, the other pointing at the 'corpse' of Miss Violet. "B-but why would you do that you said she was sexy and you were going on a date and then you just killed her." She was having too much fun with this. Selene called for everyone to be quiet and Sibyl squeaked, ducking her head like a turtle trying to hide in its shell. Right! Right. Class. Right. This was Gabby's fault. She doodled down some more notes, drawing scribbly versions of the natural forms on all the slides until-- WHY DID IT HAVE SO MANY TEETH AND TENTACLES?!Sibyl's chair fell over as Sibyl's instinctive fight or flight reaction told her to get the hell away from something that looked like it could easily overpower her. She had shoved back away from the desk, falling to the floor and scrambling to hide behind the nearest student to use as a...well..a shield.
