[Kegan] I don't mean to be sexist, but I don't know if women can be bronies. they'd be sisnies, and that sounds like some made up tumblr word... just like brony. No, I know. I don't really have a problem with people that like the show regardless, but bronies in general seem to just latch onto it so hard to be ironic. They swear up and down they aren't taking it so far because they aren't the demographic, but there's like, no other kind of animation, past or present that's gathered 20-something neckbearded, douchey grossos like that show has. They like it because they aren't supposed to. Then they like it to the max so they can feel like special butterflies. Imagine if that happened with the Powerpuff girls. Actually, that wouldn't even be that bad because that show was about kicking the s**t out of one another and didn't end most episodes with some warmfuzzy morals. ANYWAY

I remember as a kid being bummed I couldn't wear dresses but girls could wear jeans. I was like WTF!!! Then I got over it. ...then I grew really long hair

Nice analogy! Yeah, fandoms definitely have their fair share of sharks in the water. But just like any large group of people, most of them are regular decent human beings. The "bronies" you hear about, in this case, are the minority. They're just very vocal, and the media loves to focus on the crazy people. *shrugs* So yeah, I guess the main point is just don't judge people for their interests.

Every fandom has creepers, but tbh I'd never consider doing a pony cosplay because bronies scare me.
